Who Works In The City And Whats Some Nice Places To Eat Out At?

Recommended Posts

I know of pitt st mall, hunter connection and met center all located close to wynard but is there any other places anyone suggests?

Steer clear of the pizza/pasta place in the met center as i found hair in the pasta....

I'm in the city too... I usually go to a few favourites around the city throughout the working week. Food ranges from Junk to Cuisine; money ranges accordingly :P

How much do you want to spend? I know heaps of places to eat in the city.

Lunch or dinner?

Lunch, I forgot you worked in the city... BoB, what area in the city do you work in?

For lunch:

- Small arcade with asian food shops and good food @ 303 Pitt St

- Under GPO there's some decent pasta places, one they do a ~$12 pasta and wine

- The Sea King seafood takeaway under Mid City Centre, freshly cooked to order

- Bowlers Club in York, Chinese

Genghis Kahn - Was on Kent Street but they moved to King St wharf - its around $16 for all you can eat, you choose what you want then they cook it in front of you. Very good food.

I spent a LOT of hours there during school with mates

I went to St Andrews

Pretty good school, and close to everything, bars, darling harbor, everything - we all bludged sooo much

Seniors could go whereever they wanted to, as long as they got back by the next class. So i would go for a drive and skip the rest of the afternoon...

Where did you go?

Ah... St Andrews boy.... :D I was up the road at Sydney Grammar ~ I still remember sneaking out at lunch for fags close to your school, your head master cracked the shits when he saw us ;)

Yeah he'll do that!

Back when genghis kahn was on kent st it was between 2 of the school buildings, if it didnt have frosted glass on the windows we would have been stuffed.

He cracked the shits quite hard when the pub near the smokers lane left their delivery door open and stock exposed.

And when we held a water fight on Kent street, not limited to st andrews people.......

But they never caught me drinking "Sprodka" - a drink i made by keeping a bottle of vodka in my locker and adding it to nice cold bottles of Sprite just before class. English classes were never so much fun

If only i had the brains to patent the idea (damn Smirnoff Black Ice)

How was sydney grammar satanic...

I went to Central Coast Grammar ;)

I miss school, when i finished year 12 last year i had under a month break and then went straight into full time work and soon after moved to damn lidcombe :)

Man if you didn't attend Grammar then you didn't really get the schooling experience you deserved...

Nothing beats going to school which is the size of a small carpark, having nothing more than a library and being situtated next to brothels, druggies and most of all Oxford Street

Yes I had a screwed up childhood :P

Depends what you like.... I usually eat asian food so.....

Jap BBQ @ Nagoya in chinatown

Hotpot @ Shencheng on sussex (it's in an arcade)

Yumcha (lunch) @ Golden Century, Chinatown

OR, Yumcha (lunch) or good dinner (Peking Duck etc) @ Regal in Chinatown too

Theres others but I cant remember right now... plenty of places around!

MMM yum cha.

How about we organise an SAU yum cha. Sky Phoenix is run by the same people as Golden Century but less attitude. We could get one of the private rooms and cut sick!

Yum cha is best started early like 12 or 12:15 and allow an hour and a half to stuff yourself.

Who's up for it? Shall I start a specific thread in events?

Tell your bosses you are networking for their benefit. All we have to do is tell each other what we do for a job and we're not lying.

    • In Vic it would be a defect regardless of whether or not you cut a hole in the sheetmetal for the return pipe. The rules in Vic are shitful, and are generally interpreted as you can "make 2 mods to the intake system". Putting an FFP and an FMI onto it will almost certainly be seen as some huge number of intake mods. You really need to speak to an engineer before doing this stuff in VIC.
    • planning a r34 rb25 de+t with some other work, rather just have it done in a shop due to space limitations any recommendations? I have most the parts already I seen online Moore Performance and DR Drift any advice appreciated thanks
    • I’ve read the previous posts so just looking for latest information on how people have dealt with front facing plenum is it a defect etc or didn’t pass roadworthy or was it not noticed? Have a r34 and deciding if I should make a hole on the driver side or not.  I know some people have said blitz return flow but I might get rid of the stock intake down the line for a plenum so I rather set up for that now plus I already have a standard Intercooler. Car is mainly stock  Thanks.
    • Actually, if having and keeping the stock ECU is the plan, the correct answer is to put Nistune into the ECU and improve the situation, not just look at it.
    • Wrong side of sydney for me coming from Goulburn, but you should head along, all ages of Skylines will be very welcome
