As it states ive got a MINES ecu from a S1 R33, which have the ignition module above the coil packs.

I tried to put it in a car which obviously is a S2 RB25 (this doesn't have an ignition module, wether its built into the ecu or the coils i don't know).

anyway plugged it in and it started but ran like shit etc etc........ POURED fuel out the exhaust..

Straight away my thought was Z32AFM, cos the car the mines ecu came out of had one on it. Ive got a Z32 sitting here and we are gonna wire it up once i get a plug, but then i thought maybe it was something to do with the ignition module problem???

any suggestions would be great, we just want to get a bit more power out of my mates car before the weekend.....

MINES ECU = not really any value to you in Australia.

- Support only by MINES offered to original purchaser of unit

- Usually not tunable by anyone else

- Do you know what level of mods it was tuned for? Are you sure?

- Most likely tuned for a higher octane fuel than you'll see locally.

i tried a series 1 remapped ecu on my series 2 rb25 and it felt flat as a tack and had no power at all, but it did start and run ok, just had no power at all, so i dont think they are fully interchangle. as razorsharp said mines ecu is useless in aus, throw in the bin

it was making 173rwkw on a car with 11psi, pod and cat back in AUST...

we figured that it would make more on this engine with FMIC, turbo back zorst/dump pipe and more boost.....

no matter if it doesn't the parts were there to try..... no harm done

any ecu can make lots of max power

but its running mega rich through the entire rev range regardless of load (likely as its mines) then its pointless for everything else other than to waste fuel and do max power dyno runs. youll have terrible economy on the street not to mention the low down response is probably fairly average with standard ign mapping

much better to get a new remap or stand alone

Yeh thanks paul, i know they aren't the best, was just worth a try, till mate can get decent aftermarket computer......

is anyone out there doing remaps of the RB25 ecu? like dr drift doesn't do them......

    • Sane enough. Remove the roof liner, because the acid will go everywhere.
    • Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help and experienced opinions.  I have spent a lot of my life working on boats so I'm pretty good with fibreglass. I'll take everybody's advice in here;  I'll cut a little more of the 2nd layer away as it's a bit crunchy rust and also it's sitting high now. Then I'll wire brush it all a bit to get off anything loose, then I'll soak the bejesus out of it all in rust converter. I'll make sure to get a little hose piece and feed it into all the holes and gaps between the roof layers. Then I'll fibreglass up the holes.  Then I'll get a pallet of filler and mix it with 3 buckets of hardener and hope that is enough to build up the roof corner.  Does that sound sane? Is one type of filler better than others for this?
    • My goals for it atm are to get it registered, respray and some mild power gains eventually... I picked up the car from an elderly gentleman near the border of NSW and VIC, its honestly a bit rough and looks like its been driven on a farm (because there was so much dirt underneath). Last week I dropped the subframe and emptied the old fuel out + added a new fuel pump (think the old one went bad from old fuel). Now I'm onto fixing a coolant leak at the rear of the engine + adding a new radiator as the old one is corroded. After that i have a new bumper, coils (as the old were leaking) and lots more
    • Welcome buddy! Plenty on here and YouTube. What are your plans for it? Good luck with the Rwc and Rego bud!
    • Love this so much! Please post a photo when you have a bike on the trailer.  I was a little bit worried about having a tow bar on the Skyline, but having it hidden behind the number plate is genius
