mmm... hopefully i won't get an EPA...

it's pretty quiet but i think they heard it under load in second (LOUD)

but they weren't following me for any set distance.

They were burning up behind me after weaving out of the cars about 200 metres behind me.

And they were plain clothed (showed ID)

Just out looking for hooligans/pub fights. not cars.

Ive got a few ways out of this one by the looks of this ...well i hope.

thats ***ed!

vic cops have been criticised for not spending enough time fighting crime, this can be your main argument in court.

Cop r so ***ing stupid i dont believe how much power they have, being able to say it took me x amount of time to catch up to u when i was going x speed, which means u were doing x over the limit!

pffftt, like a cop has the brain power to make a calculation on the spot like that!!

U should ask him then the good old maths train quiz , if train A leave the station at 5pm and is travelling at 45km/h and train B leaves the same station 5 mins later and is travelling 55km/h but stop at 3 station along the way for 1.5mins each time, and then takes 2 mins to get upto 55km/h each time how long before train B catches up to train A!! :bahaha:

ash dont worry,i bet that hell probably book u for 15over so its just a fine, just to screw you because he know your gonna pay it,ive been to court be4 and unless they have eveidence the judge will throw it out of court,LOL i knew something would stop u from driving your new car

i couldn't even work that out myself

But i'm just wating for this 'phone call' he said he'd give me... 5 days and counting.

Also... even it's it's for 15 km'h over... i'll take it to court.

1. Insurance will go up if i get it on my record

2. That's money i have to pay for what? a cop being a little bored?

I think NOT!

Plus if it goes to court he'll have more paper work to do. And it will most likely get thrown out anyway.

Inconvenience him a little i will, fair is fair

Then out the front of the court.... :burnout: SEEE YAAAA :P

i think, unless you dont admit to it... you wont get anything.

i was in an accident last year, and i couldnt get my vehicle off the road, and it was right on where shell is just past queens road and chappel st, on an early sat. morning.. anyway.. suffice to say.. there was plenty of unwanted attention.

basically... we had an ambulance and 3 traffic cops.. trying to figure out what was going on.. i was pulled aside.. and they had a go at me... and asked me how fast i was going.. i said 70... and he said bs.. those skid marks are pretty long over there... and we can and will measure them, so u might as well tell us now.. and im like 80.. anyway.. it goes on like that for ages.. anyway.. i ended up saying.. i could've been travelling at 100.. but i might not have been and i wouldnt know because.. i wasnt looking at the speedo....

anyway... they tell me. im going to receive a fine in teh mail for doing a 100km/h in a 70 zone? or something and loose 3 demerit points.... a week and a half later.. i get the fine..

it states.. alleged speed 100km/h , loss of 3 points and $200.

Well... he took my numbers...

as he said that he'd have to look in his books to see if 40km/h over it's a court job or just a fine...

Don't ask me, that's what he said

Thats BS! The cop are suppose to be "Trained" in this. He should know the answer straight away without looking in his books.

I think he is trying to scare you thats all.. Its like whats 1+1? oh let me look at my book for the answer.

Well...

after all that i got the fine yesterday in the mail....

and it's not a court appereance... just $360 for the fine and 6 months loss of licence.

SOOO.... it's going to court.

I would appreciate any help... things to/not to say.

I'm not going to take this cop this crap from some cop either

a) breaking the law by not showing me the radar

or

B) lying out his arse and hoping i'll just pay it.

sorry to hear ash.. well off to the court you go, do dah, do dah..

Waste of a day, and sitting around but thats what you have to do. I went there once.

I'd definitely get a lawyer or if not you might be able to get legal aid to help you out.. if not they aren't too bad to just to get some advice from. Give them a call.

...the worse that will happen is you just get the same fine and the same time so you can't really lose.

And if anything, if you take it to court it will just piss the cop off as he's gotta turn up, so go for it.

If you plead "not guilty" you've got to go court once to plead, and then they have to adjourn it for a proper sitting a month or two after that. Its all crap, especially having to sit around for a few hours the first time just so they can go "ok, well if that is the case then you'll have to come back another day and we'll then have the proper sitting".

It can drag on before you know what happens, thats the worst part.

The court system in australia is farked, the cop wont care so much as he gets to bludge in the court on still get paid for it.

Only way to piss the cop off it to put him on the spot and explain himself how without a radar he could justify what speed u were going at

Exactly.. hopefully that is what happens.. and if he is lucky he'll make the cop look like a dick and it'll get put down on the cop's record. Too many bad things with dodgy convictions, and it looks bad for him, and he'll never get promoted to anything. He will know that, and want to cover his own ass before anything else.

well i'm going down the line (if has had a radar)

That this matter should be thrown out of court as the officer broke the law by not producing the speed camera/radar ..etc etc... how can citizens be expected to obey the law when the people who are meant to uphold it break it... etc etc.

If he has the Guesstamation thing... it might be a bit harder.

I'm gonna go measure the distance and stuff to bring it along....

it's about 300 meters but i'm gonna get out there with the meter wheel if i have to!

I'm gonna take him down

  • 2 weeks later...

last night got booked at princess hwy ...same story as R31Nismoid

they said i was doing 142km/h at 80 zone.

i was racing my mates cars ( R32, R34) but im the only one who got booked...!!!

they issued me a fined for $430 and i lost my license for 1 YEAR !!!!

    • That was the first session so not a lot to take from the day. It was low 20s ambient and the coolant had got to 110 (and obviously had some pressure!) so that still needs to be addressed. I haven't downloaded the data yet but will. I had refilled the auto trans with Redline DT6 because it claimed the best viscosity I could find at 100o. It wasn't really long enough to get a good feel for that; while the trans got to 100o in the session it still wasn't shifting crisply as I hoped. I think I'll try a few more sessions before judging. No steering motor overheat but I'd hope not in only 1 session! But finally the suspension; it was night and day over the standard stuff and the car was a couple of seconds quicker on the same crappy tyres, which is a huge difference. I'll stick with that and get some sway bars and a mechanical diff sorted too and see how that all goes together
    • I guess it’s partially a compromise of how my car is used, wanting to be able to switch from drift to grip with track side on-car adjustment. Also partially with the way the knuckles are set there is more static camber but less dynamic camber gain.
    • OK, so update from the track day on Friday It was a classic "an unfortunate series of events'. There were a few cars around and when i checked my mirror coming out of the fish hook I notice some smoke from the rear of mine. Looked again and it was getting much worse, I figured I'd blown a turbo or something to got off it and pulled off the racing line. However.... since it is a left hairpin into a right kink, I was on the inside of the next corner. There was a car passing me on the left and a big drop off over the ripple strip on the right......and someone had knocked the witch's hat that was on the apex about 1m onto the track. So, between those 3, I decided to mow down the cone and not damage my car/the other car. Right choice, but surprising result.  The car decided the cone was a small pedestrian so it blew the rear bonnet hinges up to protect their head in the upcoming person to car impact....I didn't see that coming and like an airbag deployment it happened super fast. Straight into the pits from there, everything was driving fine but it became clear it was a coolant leak not smoke, it was billowing up onto the windscreen. Onto the trailer and home. I'll do a separate thread about the repair (once I work out what it is ), but the immediate problem was the bonnet wouldn't open because the front was pinched onto the front bar and would not release. Ultimately we unbolted the hinge from the bonnet, pulled it back a little and it released from the front OK. "There's your problem", the top radiator hose had popped off at the radiator.
    • Yeah that looks like great caster, but I'd suggest trying less front camber some time and seeing if it helps with braking without reducing mid corner speed too much
    • I ended up setting the rear 5mm higher than normal to give some clearance.  My plan is to run the least camber I can in the rear which I think with the extra width is going to need to be -1.75 to -2.00° just to get clearance.  Guards have been rolled and pulled as much as they can/I would be wanting to.  front has the Acostal knuckle with the KPI change and the drop etc. So should be okay with the existing settings I have run with AR1s etc Front: Toe total -2mm(1mm out each side) Caster +7.5° Camber -3.8° Ackerman +15°
