Who's that insurance through? Make sure you read all the fine print and precisely understand their PDS's and other documentation.

At least you've got some type of insurance the vehicle and if you ever (touch wood you don't) have an accident, at least the other people are covered.

BTW.. the amount I quoted above ($1117) is for an agreed value of $20,000.. so I didn't pay that premium and only get paid out for $16,500...

I was very happy to know that JustCars cover weather conditions.. so if the car's ever hit by hail or damaged by a storm, it's covered. Some people just expect it to be, but some insurance company don't actually cover weather on their policies.

yeh i hope my insurance covers wether also as it isnt parked in a garage overnight. nah my car is very clean bought it off some bloke who was like 55, he just had a GTR front bar, lowered, mags, exhasut and Blitz BOV. which was good as there was no boost controller or turbo timer, i mean i wooda loved to have them on there but then you just know that the owner before me has wound up the boost etc.

my parents are givin me $1000 and putting it into a fund where it gains interest so one day i will be able to afford comprehensive.

I hope its got a very high return while presenting a low risk, and being liquid enough to take funds out of it when you want, because you do realise you have to pay your insurance premium every year right?

You'll need to be earning more than 200% PA interest on a $1000 investment to even get to a point where it will have enough money to be able to sustainably pay for your $2000 a year insurance bill if you wanted to start getting comprehensive next year.

Most standard Savings accounts have an interest rate at around 5% PA at the moment. So on $1000, if you're going to wait for interest to raise the rest of the money, it will take you 13 years on pure interest alone to save enough for 1 year's insurance......at which point you'll have $70 change to start saving again so you can afford your second insurance payment (which on interest alone will take you another 64 years).

I would say "good luck", but not even luck is going to get you those kinds of returns.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
