G'day,

Sorry for the off-topic post but I need some help, and it is a nissan :P

I'm buying a Datsun 1600 soon and I plan to use the car for motorsport. Most likely tarmac rallying, perhaps some dirt.

One of the ways to drop times severly, on such a small and light car, is to upgrade the brakes. I am pretty sure the Datsun 1600 is non floating disc, so this will obviously affect my choices.

I do know of a conversion kit using R32 GTS-T 4 Piston calipers, though this is fairly expensive, being a company product. Hopefully I can use some good 4 piston calipers, and thick discs, seeing as the car will have motorsport duties.

Basically, I was wondering if anyone has experience in Datsun 1600's, or knows any cheap and reliable brake packages. The car has had a rear disc conversion, I'm pretty sure R31 rears.

Thanks for the time.

Jason

Rear R31 disc conversions a quite common on 1600 and work rather well if the handbrake cable is done properly.

My 1600 had 200b front struts and rotors.

U can upgrade the calipers to 4 pot toyota hilux from memory. Also u can put 240K discs on the front also. U will need to get urself a bigger brake booster for the system to cope properly.

Check out www.ozdat.com/forums is has been covered there multiple times.
