 With a name like WRXHOON its no wonder you don't know what your talking about!!!!

To the person thinking of buying this for there R32 they have a hole so rather then taking any advice from these morons ring any good GTR workshop and ask them, then you will know and they might be able to help you with making a senser or welding up the hole.

WRXHOON stick with your elastic band WRX'S!!!

How do you know what car i own and what i know. If you think you know that there is a whole where the temp sensor goes, put some money on and i'll take the cooler of my car take a close pic of it and i'll post it up.

For your info wrx's are not elastic at all, over the years i have owned several including 2 STI's and i currently have 3 GTRs in my garage 2x33's and a M-spec 34 as well .

In an earlier post you said you own a 34 GTR, i think you are confusing it with a GTT maybe ....

Just in case you think i'm kidding here is a pic of my M-spec , where is yours?

im not starting something. but i gotta say youve got quite a line up there buddy. i envy ur garage.

very impressive.

This is a pic of a genuine 34 GTR cooler, off my 34 GTR. This clearly shows the hole for the temp sensor. Case closed.

Yes but the whole is a dummy hole, even without the temp sensor fitted the cooler wont leak ..

Pics of a pen entering the "dummy" hole.

I don't know what an M-Spec cooler is like but every other 34 GTR cooler I've seen, including my own, definately has a hole.

Either way, this is a for sale thread, good luck with the sale.

his one is for sale, maybe you should get one more to the collection. :P

I only buy stock cars, i never buy moded cars .

Willo thanks for the pic, i can assure you nine has the hole there but it's only 10mm deep the sensor fits in there , when you remove the sensor the cooler won't leak. I have seen used 34 coolers in Japan at autobacks and they wers like mine, looks like there is 2 different types then .

Wasn't that what we were talking about all along?? WRXHOON we were never discussing what your intercooler had or not but rather what the one for sale had!

Would you still like to put money on it..... please.....!

Anyway who cares? P.S if you would like to see picks of my REAL R34 GTR than take a look in the For Sale section. Look for my user name Benny34 as the topic starter.

And WRX's arn't all that bad but there just Elastic compared to a GTR R34 or any Nice GTR as I'm sure you would agree.

GOOD LUCK WITH THE SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woot:

I'm not so sure if the one for sale has a whole there or not . Mine doesn't and i have seen others in Japan that don't . I'll put money on it that my stock BNR 34 M-spec cooler DOESN'T have a whole and you will loose the bet too . Just like this comment you made in the previous post you have no idea what i know or what i own .

"With a name like WRXHOON its no wonder you don't know what your talking about!!!!"

I never compared a WRX to a GTR they are in a different league . I said they are not elastic at all, i have owned enough of them to know .

so what you are saying is, your eyes really ARE painted on. Thanks. Thats all i needed to hear.

I think your brain is painted on ...

The intercooler for sale does in fact have a hole like the one willo has shown with his pen experiment, this intercooler is from a 2001 v-spec II and has now been sold thank you, maybe you could put up a photo of your cooler wrxhoon

The cooler is still in the car, its not easy, maybe i can use a mirror, i'll have a go and see if it turns out OK.

If it does i'll post it here .

    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
