Recommended Posts

Guest Miss_Nismo

Hi all

My Stagea has arrived in Adelaide complied and ready to go - putting it through regency this Wednesday.

I'm sure Pawley and I will have lots of questions in the near future, but look forward to meeting more Stagea owners in the future.

What a tuff car though!!! I am really impressed now that I have one in the flesh.

Mel

Nice car!!

I've also recently bought one ('99 S2) - I live in Adelaide but bought it from a dealer on the Gold Coast.

Looks very similar to yours (white) but doesn't have the grey strip round the sides and back. That grey strip actually looks pretty cool.

Good luck with it - and enjoy - they're an awesome car!!!

Congrats, Mel!

Good to hear you're happy with the purchase, and you'll see it only gets better as you notice all the little detail things in the car that make the ownership experience great. Stuff like the little storage compartments and the extra cigarette lighter socket in the boot, the fold-down seats with the handy handles(!), multi-adjustable driver's seat, reclining rear seats, etc.

Did yours come optioned with the luggage blind and net, and self-closing boot?

Hi Mel,

Congrats on the stagea

great car perfect for the growing family and import lover

you wont be disappointed

you'll be pleased to know your old baby (R32) has had alot of attention lavished on it.

we just recently had the car dyno'd after replacing the box and making a few other adjustments and the car is putting out quite some impressive power now

Enjoy your new car, as I love mine

Hi Krissy - didn't know you had a stagea as well! Gee we must have the same taste in cars!!!

Glad to hear my old girl is doing well, I do miss that car immensly, what figures did it pull if you don't mind me asking? The most I got out of it was 178rwkw running at standard boost but with the intercooler and exhaust.

i used to be on PGA as well (a few years ago)... until my N14 was stolen and written off :(

i havnt been satisfied with any other cars ive had since...Untill the Stagea came that is ;):P:spank::ninja::D :D

...maybe its a NISSAN thing?

sorry forgot to reply to the rest

The exhaust had to be replaced from the cat bak as it was full of carbon and the cat was blocked, restricting the flow. We also put a 25 box in. We retarded the ignition timing put my old boost guage on and bleed 10psi into it and it pulled 203rwkw on the dyno (272hp). Were planning for later on down the track upgrading to an aftermarket computer, but for the time being were happy with it.

Don't worry she's in good hands..

Good luck with your stagea

top choice in car

203 really! that's awesome! had no idea there was any problem with the exaust let alone the fact that the cat was blocked that's not good - glad you found it looks like it was causing some serious restrictions. I had the boost up for about a month when i first bought the car and it loved it!

    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
