I have been toying with this idea for quite some time.

Is there a big enough benifit of changing to Thermo fans?

Does anybody have the fans hooked up so that in normal driving they don't come on at all until about 85 degrees?

Is anybodies cooling system efficient enough to control temperatures without a constantly running fan?

My old VN Commodore V6 never had a clutch fan, and it did perfectly fine......

BASS OUT

My 14's are hooked up to switch on at 85 degrees. The only time the temperature actually gets that high is when sitting still or on a hot start (heat soak), when driving for any length of time temps typically drop to anywhere from 80-83 degrees.

I also run a 40mm china alloy radiator.

yer i was planning on twin thermos for my 33 but yer ive put it back up for sale again anyway so there really isnt any point pouring more money into it.

Thanks for all the advice and oppions guys. Will keep it in mind for a future car.

Oh and by the way about the whole thing about some people not liking thermos and would rather the clutch can, Im sure it would be a greater HP increase from using thermos + better cooling. As was said about the power useage i think it would be less strain on the motor using a little more power then a big heavy viscous fan?
