Hi guys,

Long time no speak! Just wondering if you could impart some knowledge on me...where in Canberra is a good place to get your car re-sprayed? And how much would these places cost (approximately of course)? I'm not looking for a $15K showroom re-spray but I don’t want a dodgy - "it'll crack on you within a few months" job either. I don't really know a lot about paints and what affects the prices of them but I do want a reasonable metallic paint.

Thanks guys'n'gals.

Pat

really depends on what you want, you can get 2 pac finishes these days with acrilic paint (mind the spelling) so cost less due to not having to bake, plus all the other prep work. Your looking at 5k for a good job and thats if there is no dents in your car to start with.

A bloke I have met through work can get jobs done extremely cheap if you can prep the car yourself and supply the paint. Im talking $600 for a full respray in 2 pac. The way he gets it done so cheap is because he knows a place that spray paints kitchens. The job is pretty good, the only catch is they can only really do 2 pac. If you dont mind the gloss finish its a good option.

Thanks guys. Also thanks for the offer rebelde but I won't be doing it just yet as two reasons: I'm not sure if I want to keep my current car (which I may get re-sprayed) and the second being I'm looking into it more for when I get either a Skyline or 200sx (which I may have to get re-sprayed because I want a flawlessly beautiful car lol)....

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
