Got Camber kit put in and wheel balance&alignment

Note: It took them 4 hrs and mega headaches to get the camber kit in... big big job.

Camber fixed i think

Rear Camber

from: -0.54' Left and -1.25' Right

to -0.46 both sides

Front Camber

from: -1.45' Left and -1.35' Right

to: 1.38' Left to -1.27' Right

Front inners were so warn down , will the current camber settings fix this?

BTW I still get shudder at 80km/hr :D..... what else would cause this, im sure they did a wheel balance.

hmm maybe they didnt do it , doesnt show on the invoice but he didnt charge me for something so thought it was that... i dunno my call them tomorrow

umm had to take car to pedders to get some of the bushes out , also make up some special tool or something hehe.

all up with wheel balance was $195.

Hey Drift Spec - i had a camber kit put on the rear of my silvia for the same reason... 17's cost too much to scrub out! lol

was it all done professionally?? shudder would be tyre balance for sure... are your tyres still unevenlly worn, (ie u didnt get new tyres yet?) besides the balance, the different camber angle with the tyres may also be a factor.... as far as the ride of the car... pending on how worn the tyres are...

a guy that i knew of, use to block his lamborghini cont up off the ground when he wasnt using it, to avoid any little flat spots on the tyres... bit much if u ask me! but i guess with crazy wide tyres the tyre centres would tend to get flat spots if it sat too long...

Drift Spec, if you are going back in for a balance, I would ask them to check that they are using max adjustment on the front.

The kit is supposed to allow +/-0.6 deg, or a bit over 0.30'.

I would have expected your camber coming back to about 1deg,15'.

Might be worth checking/asking?

Yeah still got same tyres so I gather they have worn uneven due to camber before... getting new ones soon to fix it up.

steve

Yeah I though camber was still a bit out, they put the full kit in the front and half kit in the back ... back is good now but yeah would like front to 1.15 rather than 1.25 plus.

Also the toe arm on front is seized, he couldnt get it full adjusted so steering wheel is a little off centre but not really noticable.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
