Ben summed it up well :)

My first few runs were absolute shockers. I couldn't get any grip and I was bogging the car down badly. Times aren't even worth mentioning.

After a few decent burnouts, I finally started getting some grip off the line and as a result my 60" times dropped to between 1.8-2.0 which translated into several passes getting progressively quicker from 12.5 to 12.0.

And finally, on my last run of the night, I nailed my first 11 (not ground braking territory I know, but it was still something that I was aiming to achieve with the car, so I was pretty chuffed) - 11.945 @ 118.27mph (60" - 1.816).

I think there's still room for improvement, so I'll be back out there in a few weeks - love it :)

Surprisingly, no.

That being said, it was towards the end of the night, so maybe I was lucky to slip through under the radar.

I'll have to get it eventually though as I only intend on going quicker...

They nailed me on my first run $110.00 and it hurt, Had to wait for a mate to spot me the money before I could run again. :) But thats the rules. Then I ran a 10 later in the night and they said It all changes from here, I felt like they should have given me a refund :) Could I go back and them not know me? I know its safety and all but I only did it once.

Call ANDRA in S.A. and tell them that you bought a SuperStreet licence on the nite after running an 11 but then went o to run a 10. They'll only bill you the difference between the two licences.

Don't go back without your safety stuff - ANDRA have younger staffers there these days that pay attention to the dirty ricers in their skylines! :domokun:

When you say 'safety equipment', are you referring to running 10's or 11's (different licence again once you run a 10 right?).

Is there a website where they've listed the requirements etc.I've had a quick look at the ANDRA site, but it isn't very user friendly...

10's. 11's is just a bit of paper and your andra membership. 10's is the UDL - unlimited drag licence. need a medical, tech inspected car to requirements, clothing etc etc etc.

Get an ANDRA rule book for $20.

    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
    • I assume clearances were all a-okay?
