which route are you taking to bribie, straight up the hway, or another way. im in for this. also have another who will be coming with aswell. so add 2 more cars.

Apparently there is one way...

the only reason im asking is, since i live on the sunshine coast do i have to travel all the way to nudgee shell to drive all the way back to bribie island, kinda doesnt make sense really. but if every1 is coming up the bruce hway then i can just tag along on the way.

A few of us living at Morayfield and Caboolture will be doing a similar thing. We are planning to meet up at the BP Northbound and then wait for a phone call when the main group of cars will be driving through. I guess all we really need is some confirmation of times of when and where people will be?

There won't be any need for the main group to stop or anything, we can just tack on as they drive by.

we'll probably pull in to re group

ok R34GTX what time you guys meeting at the BP and me and the miss's will see you there

Well, if the departure time from Nudgee is to be 8:00am (probably later anyway) then I guess it would take the crew about 30 minutes to get to BP Morayfield, maybe longer due to holiday traffic.

SO I was thinking of being at the Morayfield Northbound BP anytime after 8:00am but no later than 8:30 incase the guys get a good run and everything runs ontime........which I highly doubt. Gives us time to get some quick munchies etc.

Yes, there is plenty of parking out the exit side of the BP in the car park(as you leave to go back on the highway). I will be waiting in that area.

See you all there

Peter

Thats about 30 cars now.

How about some more of you elite gtr drivers who seem to love your north bound cruises come along?

I think I speak for most of us elitists  when i say we prefer roads with corners (and sometimes cows :D ) rather than a drive up the highway.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
