Thanks Fast31, its great to hear from people that have actually done the conversion. Thanks for your input, i appreciate it.

I understand that the 4.11 ratio is out of the pintara's... how did you go about putting that into the skyline diff? I am presuming you still used the skyline diff, as it is stronger and has the 4 pinion centre rather than the pintara's 2 pinion...

Also, how would the 3.889 diff out of an auto skyline line up against the 4.11... and what about the 3.7 out of the manual skyline?

Thanks heaps!

Jimmy I would suggest if you are new to the engine conversion game, just grab yourself an r32 RB20det front cut and get someone to swap it all over for you as is.

I think you will be more than happy with the performance, I would estimate it to be 1 second quicker than an RB30 manual over the qtr on standard boost alone, put 14psi into it and you'll crack a 13......which is a big difference to the RB30!

I myself have Turbo'd the NA RB30 in my Skyline....

Thanks PSI_GTSII... these are the reasons i want to do the conversion myself: 1, i dont want to spend a lot of money on it. 2, i really want to learn. 3, i have time on my hands. 4, i have another car so it doesnt need to be finished in a hurry. 5, i have a garage pretty well set up....

Why do you say; get someone else to do it? and how much do u reckon it would cost? is it worth it?

Thanks again for your input

Don't got the Pintara Centre.

get an IMPORT diff out of an R31 coupe.

I'm pretty sure they are the R200.

they are 4.11, LSD

and tough as nails mate, they can handle 200+kw without a drama.

With the 4.11

you'll have a better off the line take-off, but the trade is your car will rev's will sit a little high on freeways n stuff.

But it's not like a 1000 RPM difference or anything so it's all worth it.

Don't bother using the Pintara Diff bits/borg waner parts, they are not designed for any power and you'll just have drama's.

like i said...

www.r31skylineclub.com

There's heaps of info on the forums there.

it's all been done before mate and there are a number who have done it.

    • haha don't worry I'm sue you've got more fun ahead buying a 30 year old turbo car....but at least you are in the right place to ask
    • some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side
    • It might be hit and miss, but Nissan Genuine Parts and Pitworks are not the same thing, although both are available from Nissan Dealers with Nissan Part Numbers. Nissan Genuine Parts are the OEM stuff, Pitworks are their attempt to get people back from generic parts makers
    • I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.
    • Wow, thanks for your help guys 🙏. I really appreciate it. Thanks @Rezz, if i fail finding any new or used, full or partial set of original Stage carpets i will come back to you for sure 😉 Explenation is right there, i just missed it 🤦‍♂️. Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
