Just wondering if doing a solid lifter conversion would be worthwhile in the long run for an RB20-21-22-23-24 if eventually chasing big power/tunability/reliability/what ever?

Also wondering what the advantages and disadvantages of solid lifters and hydraulic lifters are? Other than being able to fit RB26 cams, would i be able to fit other upgraded RB26 cams? (high lift etc) Is there a limit to how far hydraulic lifters can go in regards to camshaft selection/profiles? Like asked before, would any more reliability be gained in the conversion?

Also, what would be required to do the conversion, and would anyone be able to give pointers in doing this conversion? Once it is done, would the standard RB20 cams be un-usable and would only RB26 etc cams be usable?

Sorry if all of this is a bit much to ask, but i'd really like to find out some more on this topic from some of the local gurus. Thanks in advance.
