hey wat? wats up with urs now?

Well there is a fully built engine being offered for a low price...I could buy it and sell mine as a working unit (It works fine but I am a nervous person) and enjoy a relative ly low change over cost...bang all worries gone

u know theres no way in hell u'd get ur old engine out and the new one in intime for autosalon lol...if ur keen on the engine, and it's a real gem of one too, put it of until after autosalon maybe

I cant really put it off till after autosalon....as I have wakefiled soon after!

But I am assured the swap can be done in a day, for the cost of a steak BBQ lunch

want to share the details of the motor andy? u know we all like details :)

I forget alot of the details

But I remember

JE pistons

Eagle rods

Cryoed crank

N1 oil and water pumps

ACL race bearings

Some tricky head studs

The engine was built by a mate and was in a car that got written off 2000km after it was built so no run in period required :(

Does anna know about this? lol...sounds like its a bargain, i'd get it, therefore u dont need to worry about it going pop for a long time.

RE the N1 oil pump, i read this earlier today, http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=136134 and it's scared me a little bit. Im now thinking of replacing the oil pump for a JUN (or the likes) before the big turbo's go on :)

yeah I read that too, but I wont be too worried I will still only be making my current power..well maybe a smidge more after it is tuned with no air leaks lol

Yep Anna knows!

How much does a normal slightly tired rb25 go for these days?

with all that forged goodness u'd be silly not to run more boost :(

i'd just be having a rough guess, but it'd have to be $2500+? no idea really lol

Hmmm well that is good...that makes the changeover cost rather small

And yeah I will up the boost to the turbos max efficiency...wich is about 7psi more than I run now

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
