woot for dodgy energex :)

thanks shane is it clean as i will be in somone elses car, if not let me know and i can organise to pick it up another time

yip its clean, but ill wrap it in a sheet just in case. may i ask why you need one for?

looking nice :)

it's getting there, finally. the farken oil drains are giving me the shits now, as the way i was going to run them, the hoses foul on the exhaust, now i gotta go and get more fittings :)

yehhhh. i went into pirtek on tuesday to get some fittings, i wanted to run a t-piece straight off the block, but they didnt have one with a thread on it, so i had to get a 3-way hose connector t-piece and run hose from the fitting in the block into the t-piece and then run hose from the turbo drains into the t-piece, but the t-piece sits too far away from the block, and theres stuff all bend in the hose.

yes I hopefully have to deal with this in the next couple of weeks :)

I saw my engine yesterday and the pistons are in and she is progressing, had to tunnel hone a couple of saddles but she is all cool. I expect her back early next week. But talking to Dan my turbo is stuffed so have to decide what to get and save (looks like more noodle lunches)

its a 25 block but the displacement is just over 2.6 :) and the cams are custom (low lift nearly like a poncam) and upgraded valves and valve springs and very ported head work. The crank has been strengthed and polished and balanced. thats most of it in a nutshell :) there is more but we don't have all night and I want to know more about yours

I want around 500rwhp and the least amount of lag as I am liking circuit rather than drag. I was talking to dan about 30 mins ago and we were thinking a 650hp turbo. I already have a nice external wastgate (tial) and really would like to use it as it seems a waste not to and means I don't have to change the manifold.

that should be a real weapon, i think the headwork u've done will help alot in getting the huffer to work at its best. you should be able to get a turbo so suit pretty easily :) cant wait to see it, any idea of when we should expect to see it running?

not sure really depends on funds as to when you see it, but I am trying to get it running asap so then i can register it and work on the bodywork :) you should come round one time and have a look at the rest of the car.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
