noisey lifters? exhaust mani gasket?

wrong side of the engine for exhaust. and its not an air sound...if you know what i mean.

could be lifters...prob should see a mechanic...but dont have time. in a way i hope it f**ks up so i can do this conversion quicker....but if it does then i cant really sell it...so hopefullly its nothing major.

oh yeah and painting is next week...priming etc was on done on saturday....looking for someone to flare the guards before saturday....anyone know anyone?

wooohooo my car no longer missfires of has stupid knock levels on pfc

twas an easy fix removed coilpacs and plugs gave it all a really good clean with electrical contact clean and lube put all back in and car is going schweet

#2 spark plug had white powder stuff all on the top side of it and a little bit of rust this coensides with the place i am missing one of the coilpack cover allen bolts so water had cot in and sat there

also found my 12mm socket in there sitting on the nut holding in the coilpacks - was wondering where that got to....

shithouse ones ;)

nope

meh, u were waaaay down the list buddy :)

P.S howd the car come up paint and kit wise?????

and depends what it sounds like, could be bigend, but if its bigend it woulda gotten HEAPS worse by now, like the vid of my gtr i showed u

i wanna see vid shane

clever....but not in the mood for stoopidity atm

meh its k..

no does sound like a big end cause you cant hear it on idle..and only when the engine starts getting some load on it.

yeah and it still runs fine and revs fine.

sorry rohan.. :P

perhaps its ur intake gasket if its the other side of the engine.. detonation.. get a screw driver and prod around..

i lost my 14mm 3/8 somewher.. i want it back.. friggen KC tools and kincrome aint cheap.. neither is snapp on

its not an air sound unfortunately, and its not detonation cause it is happening at 4000rpm no matter how far the car is boosted, whether it be still under negative vaccum or positive pressure.

It was far too stock for its own good.

indeed it was. and i only got to drive it on boost ~3 times :)

I guess this will make sense will i've met Dan

yeh he's easy to spot, just look for the big goofy bastard :action-smiley-069:

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
