my current car is a 92 180SX with mods, tuned to 240rwkw. had it for nearly 4 years and after thousands of $$$ got it the way i want.

ive imported an R34 skyline from japan, bayside blue, sunroof, 01 model (see 'for sale cars' section).

is it time for a change? ive had my fun with performance and power. i wouldnt mind a nice, late model popular car to just cruise in, as i dont really intend on doing up my next car.

help me decide, thanks.

If it were me i'd get rid of the 180. The 34 is much more recent model, still fairly uncommon today (campared to 180) and if your lookin more towards a car to cruise in, then it sounds like the more obvious choice to keep. Plus with the way petrol is going, a 240rwkw machine is gunna really hurt!

Go the 34.

It suits what you've said you want from your next car perfectly, plus even in stock form it still has plenty of punch.

And that aside, it's a 2001 model, it's Bayside Blue, it has the factory Nismo kit, and it has a factory sunroof. That's just about the rarest spec combination of a GT-t I can think of, I'd love to have one just like it for my next car. Basically I'd hang onto it if I were you :)

Your asking a Skyline forum about which car to keep :)

No doubt if you posted this on NissanSilvia they'll say keep the 180.

Keep the skyline, so much newer, so much hotter. Harvest all the parts off the 180 that you can and you'll still be able to sell it for a handsome price.

youre right, it would be a bias answer coming from this forum!

my main concerns with the skyline are fuel consumption and rego. but i guess a stock one would probably be the same as what the 180 is now. and rego is what, $180/3mths now? plus i dont owe anything on the 180, and keeping the skyline would increase my debts a bit.

i cant spend money on the skyline to get 240rwkw now like i did the 180, i bought a house not long ago. so its time to calm down.

thanks for the input ppl, much appreciated.

That is one of the more nicer modded 180's I've ever seen (Here or Japan) Those rims are f**kin hot!

Do not sell it dude.. You will regret it no doubt.

I say sell the 34 and invest in something small and gay.. 34's are'nt exactly individual or holding their value anymore

Took me a while to work out who you were - der!! It's me Kristian - keep the 34! Wait till it gets here and you drive it, then make your mind up - that is probably your best bet. Not far away now.

I think it depends on what type of driver you are.

Personally as much as I love Skylines I would keep the 180sx :)

EDIT: Just read the above thread, arghhh! Sorry to hear dude - Hope you get it back :(

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
