so if the price they quote says $xxx landed and complied...but doesnt include the parts swapping...what part of the compliance is worth the $4000 that is mentioned... :P

The biggest part $4K (compliance should cost under 3K for a stock Stagea now) goes towards is the cost of being a Comp shop and the lack of competition at present for Stagea compliance... There is nothing within the process that is of any great cost/value that needs to be done to the car.

$2750 at IAMSHE for my compliance :whistling: Wont get it any cheaper than that...

We just payed double that to comply one of our 2 stagea's this week... I can assure you the market isnt dropping at the moment with the lack of compliers and plates floating around....

IAMSHE have put the price up to $3000 plus GST plus tyres for a series 1 and $3250 plus for series 2

Still alot better than the other 2 compliance centres

Has anyone tried the company in Melbourne?

They are on the Dotars site

Looks like I am in the wrong business! I paid $2750 for comp, total invoice was over $4K with added extras (front indicators, timing belt, labour etc.) and GST. Plus I had to locate and send them standard wheels (thanks Alex) then get them shipped back down here, which cost more than the rims in the first place! I'd always budget for a blow out in that area from now on, there's always something...

Thats why I ended up buying locally (Qld, private, search CoolPC).

You get to see the car, drive the car, and for $17900 at the time was same price as a Stagea at the jap auctions (close enough anyway) to not be bothered with the importing hassles and budget blowouts.

I searched and searched the market for around 8 months before finding a neat Stagea that stood out (ie Dayz edition, go the Dayz, you rock Mr. Dayz!), that was in good condition with low kms with some history behind it.

anyway - Handling........... prior to Sydneykids suspn group buy I thought it handled pretty good (let down by the budget tyres). However, now with 17s and awesome tyres and most of Garys suspn kit (standard springs, no castor kits) it handles brilliently.

For a turbocharged intercooled tuned 4wd automatic wagon, anyway! LOL

Im a happy happy Panda (actually, would love a carbon bonnet to make the Panda look!)

    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
