When I was looking for an FD there nobody was complying them in Vic. You had to go to QLD or NSW for compliance. Don't know if that's changed recently, so I bought a 34 GT-T instead (still in Japan.)

So yeah, if you want to import one you might need to get it complied interstate. Too much of a hassle.

Edit:

Yup, that's still the case.

Just checked the RAWS site.

Compliance available in NSW and WA only.

HRmmmmmmm, ive gotten some offers for complience down here in melb from a complience company who want to add the rx7 to their list of compliced cars and they wont charge me...so complience is for free. sounds good but dunno if ill give it the go till i see wats actually gonna happen

Do note that even if they do compliance work for free, it will take a gd month or two, as paper work will take ages.

Then an engineer as to inspect each modifications done for it to meet the standards. Then the paper work will be sent out backwards and forwards.

So if you are willing to wait that long then go ahead. Just something to think about i guess..

^^ this is because they have never done it before. So it would take a lot longer than normal skylines etc etc.

Also now looking after one is going to be much more expensive than a 34.

So why dont you see to many around?? well price firstly!! secondly parts are not cheap!!!

you are still in school dude.. Are you sure you will be able to afford it.

Not questioning your money status here. Just saying, after finishing school, some of your interests will change. You might go on holidays..

Actually i will stop here and let you think about it a bit more.

Dont jump and buy out a 50k car!!

all the best.

if its gonna take that long i proberly wont even bother , atm i just want my car back. i cant really think of any cars apart froma 34 or a FD....everyone seems to tell me its gonna be real hard to maintain a FD....which kinda makes me want to own one even more. my whole life ive wanted things that no one has...i guess its just gotten even bigger.

thinking about it logically a 34 is already good enough....so i might just stay with it.

Edit: Get off your red p's before you buy another 'Fast' car..

N get some driving experience...

Im not saying that we all are perfect.

Im saying get off your Red ps atleast.. that is all..

gdluck

its gonna take me 3 years to get off my Ps mate....i cant wait that long lol

mates keep telling me to go to some advance driving courses...but i dunno.....i guess its fun and all but i just never get around to makn the arrangements.

YE GTA in the city spencer st sells rx7 but be cerful when doing buissines with them..

Hrmmm...havnt herd of em but thanks for the heads up, although i think ill stick with a 34 for now.....

    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
    • It's TWO steering wheels actually. 😛 one for each hand They are wheels, and they steer!
