Ok, I have noticed a little bit of interest in track days of late so I just thought I would let everyone know that on the 1st of July I will be heading down to QR with a few other people for the Saturday Afternoon Sprints at QR. This is the perfect time of year for all those who are scared of hurting their cars, it won't get any cooler out at Ipswich. Its a great afternoon out, and you get to give you and your car a real workout without breaking the law. As long as your car is in good mechanical order you will have a ball, you don't need a track dedicated machine to enjoy the day. Hell my car would be flat out pushing 160rwkw! :P

Hope to see some new faces out there!

well, my brakes are on (i've still gotta get them sorted though... rears are locking up with more than about 1/2 pedal pressure) and i've got the thurs/friday off before then as well, so i'll hopefully be able to do a service, including new diff and gearbox oil :whistling:

in other words, i am trying to make it out to this one!

Woah, I just realised the schedule I have just given myself, QR track days on the 1st and 4th, and Skidpan/LVMA day on the 8th!!! Oh well, gotta make the most of the cooler weather.

All info can be found here:- http://www.queenslandraceway.com.au/

You will need the usual wrist to ankle clothing, helmut (can be hired there), AASA licence (can get on the day, $55 annual fee) and a roadworthy car of course. The cost is $95 or if you prepay its $75.

Hope to see you all there!

Thats the link to how it all works for anyone who doesnt know (like I did :spank: ) Seems a good format.

Not a hope getting to this one, but Id hope by the next round I should be well and truly ready to take on the track. Both skills and car.

Just picked up my freshly re-built Nismo single plate clutch. . . . .gets fitted on Tuesday, just in time >_<

I have been out there before when they have the motorkana in the carpark, its good. Gives you something to watch between runs. :ermm:

we should be out there with the 33 race car. Assuming we get the custom swaybar intime. It will be good to see more skylines out there, besides the usual 2 or 3, and million wrxs.

Heres a crappy photo of our car...if you see us come have a chat. Dont ask about the stickers...my old man chose them.

We need more skylines in the sprints and top gear racing...need to overpopulate everything >_<

I wish we could say that....but they seem to have this amazing ability to rattle off extremely good times....drives you insane. You do a 59 round the sprint circuit and then they come round and go yeh...had abit of a tough one but i managed a 56....then your jaw hits the ground....shit >_< 3 seconds faster....well we got a suprise for them now hehe.

    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
