Thermostatic Cooler Kits, Single/dual Filter Relocation Kits

Recommended Posts

Guys

This is a group buy for filter relocation kits that can also be ordered with oil coolers and thermostats if required

Start date: 5/7/06

End date: 24/11/06

This kit enables you to do oil changes MUCH easier on RB motors by moving the oil filter to a spot of your choosing :)

The kits also fit SR20, FJ20 and CA18 motors for those of you with Silvias, DR30's etc etc

These kits are supplied from Melbourne (but made in USA), and all prices are delivered to your door

Heres a pic.....

For those that havnt seen these before, they replace the filter on the side of the block, and have lines running towards a mountable filter location, so they can be mounted on the strut tower, or where ever you would like them to be

Also ive been able to source dual filter kits, so at filter change time, you simply buy 2 filters and run them both - doubling your oil filtration

If using the genuine ones from places like justjap, your oil change would be only around $10 more

Oil cooler cores can be added also, a must for track cars, see below for pricing, and there is a pic below

They are a hard type core deisgn. Meaning the fins dont bend if hit by stones etc flung up from the road.

The fins are angled to flow air through the core most efficiently. The air is forced to flow through the hole core, unlike some where the air passes around and over, the only core on the market like that.

Core size

21cm high. 28.5cm wide, 3.5cm thick

Mounting brackets

25.5cm high 26cm wide

Thermostats can be added if required. When oil temperature exceeds 82°C the thermostatic valve closes, allowing 95% flow through the oil cooler. At temperatures below 82°C the valve is open, with 90% of the oil by-passing the cooler. The remaining 10% of the oil flows through the cooler, maintaining constant system pressure, preventing air pockets and eliminating cold oil shock. Flows up to 20 gallons per minute. Rated to 200 PSI. This means your setup will be the same as the big name Japanese brands (names like HKS include a thermostat).

Kits include everything needed to install to your car

Delivery time is 4-5 days from time of deposit

Post up interest here and i will PM you direct deposit bank details

Prices:

Single filter kit, delivered $140

Dual filter kit, delivered $165

K&N filter to suit is $15 (all Nissan filters will fit the kits though)

B&M cooler core, delivered $130

Thermostat, delivered $120

To be in on the buy, simply post up here and ill PM you the payment details, or PM me - either way

Very interesting... actually looking into one of these! Now just weighing up whether to get one from the JustJap Special or one of these!!!

Decisions decisions decisions!

If you intend on doing more track work you really do need an oil cooler

It figures out to be a little bit more than the justjap ones, BUT includes a thermostat for those cold days/nights

Damn, that oil cooler is nice and big. Also like the fact that it doesnt bend from stones hitting it etc.

I won't be in on this group buy (no $$$), but is there a chance that this may be running again?

I've just had a talk with the mechanics and this is definitely going to be purchased instead of the JJ cooler kit. Just the mention of B&M put a smile on their faces.

I'll be in on this group buy but closer to the next track day in October.

also guys. Running NO thermostat will mean there is HUGE strain on the oil pump when the oil is cold. meaning long trips on the freeway, and in the mornings it will kill the oil pump fast. and hope thats before the bearings die from thick cold oil hitting them=costly rebuilding...

also cheap 19row oil coolers are JUNK. i have seen countless amounts of them split under pressure. blowing apart and dumping oil all over the road, and leaving NO oil pressure for the motor. so here we come motor rebuild

Correct :D

Thats why this is a good core, not one of the cheap ones out there

It may be extended (just like the Sydney Window Tint group buy that Blitz organized) at the end, but there is a long time between start and finish mate ;)

Ok, just let me know and ill send it out

oooo so tempting but no cash, ill see what i can do

Yeah, i figured this may be the case for some people, so i made it a very long timeframe ;)

Is the end date 1/12/06 correct ? If it is im def getting one when my money start flowing again :(

Also how do the 'non-braided' hoses go for reliability ?

The hose is made by Goodyear, and is 5-6mm thick, and 3 layers - you wont have any issues :D

And order today, you will get it very soon, theres no waiting until the end of the group buy to get your purchase

whats the diff/advantages of a dual compared to a single filter kit?

With 2 filters you double the amount of filtration of your oil, disadvantages? each oil change costs an extra $10 for 2 filters instead of one

I measured out before and thought WOW. It is about the size of an A4 sheet of paper!

Had a look at the B&M website. Are you able to get the smaller 'high performance' oil coolers or is it only these ones?

Just don't think I need something THAT big.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
