What replacement is they for a water temp sender to the gauge in the DR30

Probably a new or 2nd hand one from the same year MR30 .

From memory it was the same as VL Commodore.

i'd say any that will fit?

with the rb20det in the hr30 i have they just ran a wire from the rb20 sensor to the plug at the fire wall for the r30 gauge to work..

i just bought a new autometer gauge the other day and it came with a new sensor, identical to the one in any rb engine.. i'd say yes to your question...
