hi there,

my rb20det has this problem where it idle's fine, but as soon as i blip the throttle, it's stops firing in some cyclinders completely and it shakes the entire car! obviously it's not driveable like this, but i have tried and it runs like a pig, absolutely no power, i might as well be pushing the car from behind...

it started off as a simple missfire on WOT above 5000rpm, but has since degraded to this over the last 2 days. i've checked the coils, all register within value + i taped them up anyways, tested the wiring to each coilpack from teh ignitor and changed all the sparkplugs. MAF has been cleaned as well.

i just can't get the car to idle or rev fine, without a cyclinder shutting off...if i rev it a bit more, it'll start firing like normal again, but 2 seconds later it could stop firing again. its very random and completely not driveable at this point. what else can i try to do? this is pissing me off :P

Do you have access to another RB20 crank angle sensor?

It also could be a wire earthing out somewhere... i had a similar problem with my old coupe many years ago.

Working one day, wouldnt the next

There must have been an S-AFC or simlar connected from the loom. It was not correctly taped up and send me on a wild goose chase for about 3 months and it was a lowly wire near the ECU... its a long shot, but you never know.
