Well we're leading up the Victorian Championships of Poker starting tomorrow night (Thurs 24 Aug) at Crown.

It's gonna be a massive event with the Main Event guarenteed to have a 100k+ 1st prize.

I for one am hanging for this opportunity.

Details can be found at :DVic Champs Schedule

There are plenty of satellite events if you don't want to fork out the $1650 entry fee. I've already won my seat into it and I can't wait to play against some of AU's best.

There are also cheaper buyin tourneys too like the Camp Quality Charity Cup where proceeds go to Camp Quality, the 25k, 40k and 75k prizepool events.

If you really enjoy your poker, this is the time to shine.

The next major tourneys will be the Aussie Millions in Jan where someone will win an estimated $1.5M first prize.

Nah haven't tried due to feedback from other people. I've been told it's the biggest aquarium out there with fish all over the place. I have trouble playing poker against people who call every bet. As a wise man said "How can you know what someone is going to do when they don't know what they're going to do."

ooo will have to mention this to friends...

dave you ever played in any of the free aus poker league tournaments on sunday nights around melbourne?

And calling stations is what I'm afraid of. No chance of stealing blinds from someone who doesn't know when to lay down a hand.

yeah that's usually the case with at least 1 person at the table.

it becomes a problem because it's not real money which makes it easier to call everything.

but I might hit 2 pair with 7 2 offsuit!!

I think I'll keep being a cheap skate though, and just take money off my mates instead of risking mine at the casino :) The play at the NPPL regionals on the weekend wasn't too bad.

Well, just played the opening tourney for the Vic Champs last night. It was the Camp Quality Charity tourney.

Ended up finished 8th after playing a complete banana hand trying to steal the blinds. Happy with the way I played except for the last hand when I was getting tired.

    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
