bluesky4me
Hi...just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. It has only done it three or four times over six months. When I turn off the ignition, I hear this loud moan/groan type sound coming from the rear of the car..I am thinking its the fuel pump in the tank (I guess theres one there)..anyone had the same thing happen or have any ideas?? kjb_r33
I beleive that some of the ECCS systems run the pump for a few seconds after shut down to build up fuel pressure. They do this to minimise the chances of heat soak boiling the fuel and causing vapour lock in the fuel lines. They also have a electronic solenoid on the vacumm line to the regulator to give the rail full pressure. So it could well be your pump building up full pressure.
