s13's dont have drum handbrakes so that rule's that out. I'd be looking at s14's or r32's or something... but pull yours out and find something that matches them.

have you done urs? i remember something about you wanting to tighten the handbrake so thought you might have done them.

Im thinking R32 atm :S

here is a pic of them installed (obviously without the disc on)

Turns out the shoes were ok but they were out of alignment and weren't grabbing the drum properly.

Had to get the rear pads replaced after been told by another place on saturday that they were fine.

Grrr

Also, do you notice a difference with the uras ones ?

well... i bought the URAS brake shoes... they're the same as 32 and most other drum applications...

:/

I have to ask is there anything you can do with the uras ones you can't do with stockies or is the marketable factors of uras ones that they last longer or something?

s14 is disc handbrake... just like sils

r32/r33 are the same

uras ones would be good for supposed performance enhancement

so is this true for the s14 disc brake ? Do they bolt on to the rear of the ceffy? direct replacement?...and are they twin piston likie the 32s and 33s?

thanks ...sorry for going off topic a bit

direct replacement

modify handbrake cables and thats it...

single piston s14/s15... not twin like 32/33

to me it looks the same... put it this way - it wont be a downgrade... youll have 5 stud and larger rotors

the other thing you can do

use the s14 stub axles and hubs... then get 32/33 rear rotors... and use something that runs disc handbrake that isnt single pot caliper...

OR just use your standard stub axles - use 32 hubs... you get to keep your drum handbrake setup... and use 32/33 rotors n calipers (what ive done)

direct bolt on! less muckin

yea well at the moment i am staying 4 stud .........i already have wheels(which are awesomeand 4 stud)...yeas i could sell and go through all that agin but i really cant be bothered ....its cheaper to stay 4 stud at this point in time ...thats why i was just talking about callipers not hubs ...........in the end i may go 5 stud but ............but its just going to be a pain in the arse now ....

    • I was 99% sure the standard one is long enough to get there, you might just have to change the throttle orientation. If not, I remember someone having used an r31 cable instead, but that is probably harder to find than r33 by now...
    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
