hey everyone

just wondering who has one... ?

i just looked at my settings just then (just been installed last week) hasnt been tuned yet... and the knock sensor reading is up around the 120 mark at IDLE... n i dont think that this is good but i dont have a clue about this stuff :D ...

any help would be awsome

120 sounds high, max knock I’ve gotten is 15, usually sits around 0-8 (this is on bp premium (the silver stuff)), I will run bp ultimate once the new engine goes in. Maybe you could be running to lean? Get the SAFC tuned by someone who knows what there doing (dyno)

its currently running just on normal unleaded cause it had 1/2 a tank when i bought it...

but im really worried im gonna do damage 2 it if i run it... so she is just sitting out the back... (car has no brakes due to dead master cylinder, and its unlicenced)...

yeah reset to factory settings then set it up again as per manual.

if u dont have the manual i think u can get it online at the apexi website

maybe it is not setup properly coz its not right to like that at idle!!

timing also effects the knocking, maybe your CAS is wayy out

hey guys

ok reset the safc n then retuned the knock sensor (via safc) like manual said n she seems 2 be ok now :P was getting worried there... now just gotta get it tuned cause she has a wiked stutter when u stab at the gas... almost like it cant get the air n fuel in fast enough haha ohhh well just have 2 wait for some money once i fix the leaky master cylinder :yes: lol

      Just to be clear, there were no lights or codes when the hiccups were occurring. Also nothing noticeable in the cars' braking. It brakes fine and the dash is clear. I only made the connection when it did throw a code and suddenly, despite the lights, it felt great again.

      Yeah they are sliders and this was in my head before I worked out it was the speed sensor.

      Ok so we have a smoking gun.  A few weeks ago I had to replace a speed sensor that I'd fit incorrectly. I replaced the sensor and everything was fine with no lights or codes thrown any longer.  When I was doing some more bedding in yesterday I got ABS and traction control lights again and, considering when this happens those things are disabled, the pedal went back to normal with smooth braking and no hiccups.  The codes thrown are for the same speed sensor that I replaced. When I looked at the sensor I took out it looks like the tip of the sensor is damaged. So whatever happened to it, perhaps it has damaged the magnetic ring on the bearing (that I only replaced the other week). I'll get my boroscope in the hole where the sensor goes and see if there is any damage in there. Hopefully just the tip of the sensor is in there and the bearing is fine. 🤞🏻  It's worth noting also that the pedal hiccup happens more often and for longer periods now and totally goes away when the codes are thrown again which happens usually after 5 or so minutes of driving.
