Hey everyone,

Since I bought my car two years ago, the drivers rain skirt which stops rain from coming into the window, had been loose. When Sydney had those really strong gusts of wind about 2 months ago, the skirt came loose and snapped off.

I was wondering what the cheapest method of removing both the remaining piece of skirt and the passengers side skirt would be? It seems that it is built into the rubber which water seals the window, which might be a pain to get rid of.

Alternatively, how much roughly would it cost to buy some carbon fibre skirts for rain protection? To buy the actual Skyline ones I got priced at something ridiculous like $400!!

Cheers everyone

I didnt know you could buy the carbon ones, I always wanted CF ones instead of the ordinary looking stock ones. Mine is loose at the moment too, seems the bottom half is just held on with double sided tape and the top is screwed.

If you want to get them off then just rip them off - taking care you un-bend the 3-4 brackets that are holding it to the rubber too.

Then go out and get a can of Prepsol; a plastic scraper of some sort (don't use a razor blade); a high bar stool; and maybe a 6 pack.

Apply Prepsol to the remanents of the double sided tape - it'll "freeze" over... use the scraper to quickly get as much as you can off. Repeat process until it's all gone. Once it's all off; hit the rubber with some polish and it's all sweet!

Be prepared to stay there for a good few hours >_<
