Guys, a few responses here have pissed me off.

Wun Hung Lo - you have a right to post in this forum and you have a right to be heard without people giving you a hard time. I should have seen this thread earlier and for that I apologise. I agree, some of what is posted in the Wasteland is of poor taste and when it gets bad enough, its removed. But the area is of very light moderation and for people who enjoy wasting time in there and in my opinion, thats fine, there is a warning under the title. I dont go in the wasteland *ever* because I dont get anything out of the threads in there.

SECUR1TY - This is a serious thread in a serious forum, please keep comments to yourself unless its regarding the topic at hand.

rukus - Bugger off dude, not necesary and not appreciated.

Sl!m - Thanks for removing it, but please dont take these things as personal attacks, you got so defensive.. Its a feedback area for the site, not you.

- Christian

Hey Christian, the bit in question was actually in NSW general on the jokes thread. Wasteland is one of my favourite spots. I don't have a problem with the light moderating of things and none of the other jokes got up my nose. I've got a pretty bent sense of humour generally. I just thought that this particular one didn't even deserve to be classified as a joke.

I didn't take offense at Security's posts myself. I actually like my new suggested user name better than the old one. So we're cool with each other.

Rukus and Dave? Well, I've been doing things without waiting for their approval all my life.

Sl!m and I had a PM exchange which the forum was unaware of. Basically the only reason he got defensive initially was that he was already pissed off about something else so my post caught him at a bad time. He agreed his post should be removed and sorted it. So we don't have a problem with each other. It all ended amicably.

Thanks for taking an interest though.

PS. White Ribbon Day is coming up. Stand up and be counted and to hell with the dickheads. :P

    • Well, in the same way that you can't tell any SUV from any manufacturer in any size category from any other one, "sports" coupes now all look identical. Stand back and squint your eyes and the Supra and the 400Z and the GR/BRZ things all look the same. I was just thinking last night, when sitting behind a Subaru CrossTrek, that I have no idea what it is, how it differs from an XV, or a Forester, or an Outback, or anything else Subaru offer, and I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be small, medium or large. I contrasted that to the good old days, where a HQ Kingswood had familial similarities to an LJ Torana, but there is no way that you could confuse them, and how a bit later, the HX Kinger and the concurrent Torana and the Gemini all had familial similarities, but you still could not confuse them. Ditto the ugly Fords and Chryslers of the era. But now, a RAV4 looks like a Kluger, looks like a Yaris/Cross/whatever they're calling those stupid f**king things, looks like every other Toyota that's not a Camry/Corolla sedan.
    • The Prelude doesn't look that bad without all that lens distortion in those pics. Makes it look disproportionate when it isn't. Actually I kind of liked it at the Osaka Auto Messe earlier this year.
    • Pour in the highest octane, non-ethanol fuel you can get and see if the readout changes. If it's dead bang on 11% then I would question the sensor. Another quick test, just take it out and run normal (in an american accent) gas-o-line through it and see if the sampled ethanol or lack of changes.   United E85 here in the land of drop bears does vary a bit, I've had as high as E87 (could be water in their tanks too, who knows)
    • Yep. And if you ever do, you'll just have to deal with it then.
    • E10 is pretty tightly regulated in percentage. Too much and engines can't adapt. Every incentive is against them to have too little ethanol though. The more ethanol the higher the octane.
