I’m a friend of Matts I spoke to you at the drags, knowing how much of a thrashing this motor has taken from you at drags, Matt give it abit and Japan?? God knows what. I would say the motor is built very strong but it would have to be wearing out abit as its been through a lot and some people say that 400rwkw is the limit for a RB25

Dude. If I ha to guess, I'd say it had a set of forgies and rods at a minimum.... It was hammered in Jap (should have seen the tyres before compliance), it wasn't really hammered by Andy, it was hammmmmmered by rickards and you've given it a good going over too.... all over the space of 4-5 years... IF it is stock... it's gonna die soon... very very soon.

It will be getting a tune again once i sort out what auto im going to run. Am planning on running about 22psi. Will have to wait and see what happens. :ninja:

So you have decided on an auto then???

Any other plans yet for the new year???

DUDE!!!! bit of gas, trans brake and a set of slicks..... ha ha ha wheel stand time... Hah ah ha ah u should line up the Kamikaze bucket of shit for a grudge race..

Can that car actually back up all the hype about it or is just another shiny overpriced bucket of cow dung???

What plans have you got for XRATED Hallock, i know you would of been thinking about it over there!!!!

yeah there is no way in hell the motor is stock, if it made 399rwkw

Umm... yes it is possible. They just wont last very long!

Ha ha ha ha.... I have a plans yes. It's going to involve a lot of re-engineering tho. It will also make my last efforts look very tame!!! If/when I come back, I'll have 3 or 4 projects on the go..... they're all going to be very unique. Anyone got a cnc machine at home handy??? or a lazer cutter??? metal lathe? plazma cutter? high frequency tig? hoist? milling machine? mandrel pipe bender? dyno? etc etc.... ehh better get back to work...gotta pay for the toys some how.

  • 1 year later...

Its a old topic but i thought i would let you know how the 25 was when i pulled it apart.

It had Tomei pistons, Tomei cams and valve springs and the rest was totally stock. Stock rods, crank.

So the 25 put up a good fight before it lost compression on number 6. It burnt the piston and pinched the ring. The bore looks like brand new as do the other 5.

I now have a 25/30 running the same turbo setup (for now) and a C4 auto with 3800 stall and a 100-175hp nos kit.

Its not tuned yet as ive got a few little issues to sort out and then need to upgrade the ignition. I am looking into M&W igniters and mercury coils.

Someone is interested in the twin turbo setup, so ive started looking for something bigger and better. GT42R :P

    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
