I have two of these turbo's now.... One from my VG30DET powered R31 coupe (that's just been replaced with a GT35/40 and one from a low KM import motor that i have sitting one the shelf.... both turbo's appear to be in excellent condition.

Some pics of the turbo taken off my R31 coupe.

This is what you will get with both turbo's

Engine it came from, quad cam 3.0L VG30DET (single turbo)

This turbo made 190rwkw on the above motor on around 9psi boost from memory.

Great bolt on upgrade for FJ20, RB20/25 etc.

$300 each or $550 for both (Turbo's located in Brisbane, local pickup or interstate not a problem).

Mate ...can u confirm if these are direct bolt on to the rb25det? ...if you can...then i want one

Mate ...can u confirm if these are direct bolt on to the rb25det? ...if you can...then i want one

I can confirm they will fit a RB25. They have the rare .6A/R turbine housing..very hard to get. They respond better to high flowing, making upwards of 270rwkw. They also have a thicker shaft which is safer at higher boost than the 25 turbo

Both turbo's at this stage are still available (And a 3rd if both of mine sell), so far i have had around 6 people interested but so far no sales.

PM me or email if interested.

Cheers guys.

will it bolt straight onto a rb20det manifold?

do a search on the forums....seems this is a common upgrade turbo for the r32 so i suppose it is a direct bolt on...but plz dont quote me on this.

PSI999 - will pm you next wed if its still not sold (which i doubt as these turbos are highly sought after for their highflowing capabilities)

FREE BUMP*

Cheers mate, i'm actually surprised they have not sold yet - the price is sure right.

aweseome upgrade for an RB20

From another forum (VG30 turbo fitted to an RB20)

..... I can vouch for that, excellent value for money upgrade. I found the stock turbo strangling mine a bit up high, now it pulls silky smooth (and a lot harder) until it hits the limiter. Not substantially laggier than stock either, maybe 100rpm later on boost if that.

Seat of the pants (haven't dynoed yet) tells me I've probably picked up 20kw or so running less boost.

And DIRECT bolt on for R32 RB20DET, or RB25DET......

If anyone wants one to highflow let me know, i can get my hands on a very clean example..... only problem is its siezed (PM offers and i'll pass it through to my mate)....

I have quite a few VG30 mates (with turbo's kicking about).... didn't think there was such demand for them.

    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
    • Look at @Kinkstaah's thread on the issue.
