Hello everyone...

well, its fully hectic for anyone importing a car, with May 7th 2003 being the cutoff date under the current system.

While some things are changing, life at the docks are still the same. My boost guage and gear knob went missing somewhere between the Shipping container and the docks. Other importers have had stuff ripped off their cars also.

If anyone knows of anyone selling an unusually large amount of gear knobs or guages etc, give me a PM, especially if they look like a wharfie :(

Secondary car cleaning and quarrantine has taken me 6 days, up from 1 or 2 days.

Compliance Centres are flat out, but a big shout out to Shogun Racing imports at North Parramatta, for compling my car before the cutoff date.

Now for a 2 to 3 week wait for a compliance plate to come from canberra.......

Then Rego....3rd tier and then...

Cruising:D

anyone else going through hoops with the current system?

Getting close tho Akira, I bet you can't wait !!!!

When I did mine (9 months ago) , cleaning was shocker - cost me extra $$ and extra days, then when I got it, it hadn't even been cleaned - there was dust and crap everywhere - luckily it only took a good detail to get it back to schmick ! But I was fully pissed off that I had to pay for the cleaning that they didn't do !!

Cheers, and I can't wait to see your BEAST !

You can imagine the dock workers being able to build a complete car with all the different parts they have aquired...LoL :)

haha soooooooooo true... :) the person whos rg26 is getting nicked is the worst victim i say... haha... :)

I had Shogun Racing do my compliance work about 1 1/2 years ago. Good blokes. Think they have changed their name now though.

I was personally at the docks area when they unlocked the container my car was in. Went thought "quarantine" (sprayed it with a pressure washer for 5 mins) then drove off. Try to pick up a car this way, it's hard for anything to get stolden if you're right there.

my tv/dvd and sat navigation system was stolen on the boat as well as Mines Rev Speed digital meter :-( they left the stacker and tv navigation box under the seat...(useles to me)

i got a bit of money back from insurance but less than 1/8th of the value...kinda a bummer....

They busted up my Tv and stole my stacker cartridge.

That was all ...... the $150 for cleaning was a joke though. A bit of dirt under the rear wheel arch, and inside the fuel cap area. I could have run a hose over myself. But Nooooo..... $150 thanks and I'm knocking off now....

RRRRR

now i'm angry again...... Thanks for dredging up that repressed memory guys

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
