made with carbon/kevlar... various laminate structures...

you can hardly compare F1 composites which are all pre-preg auto clave parts, to a dodgy hand laid fibreglass bonnet with a layer of carbon...

F1 uses carbon fibre for a purpose.. and it's not cause they think its pretty...

but doesnt Custom Carbon use carbon fibre only Noy? Or do you still use fibreglass? Just out of interest, how much would one set me back? As you can see, I'm really interested :D

cheers,

deriq.

We use carbon fibre only.. NO fibreglass, all bonnets are vaccum infused using in house techniques.

i would need to know what model car this is for? OEM bonnets start @ $1980 Inc GST

Sorry to wake the dead, but that website doesn't work anymore and I'm interested in an ADR approved vented bonnet for my 33.

Anyone have a good place to get these from?

Thanks.

*edit*

Never mind I've found it lol it's still around although there seems to be only one style but who am I to argue.

The thing abouts blitsbodykits is correct. they make all ADR approved body kits. they are all Fibre Glass and complete on road. and on the note of insurance? Think about it. ur insurance company doesn't want to give u money! if u have anything illegal on the car at all andthey find it then if u get into a crash they wont pay for anything at all! i asked my isurance about this and they said i would void all possible insurance. and on the note of carbon fibre bonnets. i got pulled over the other day by the cops just for a breath test. i asked them about carbon fibre bonnets. they said they are illegal in every state in australia. thats was proof enough for me that they are illegal. and even if the cops didn't pick up the fact that u have a CF bonnet. if u get into a crash the insurance people defo will. so ask ur self. is it worth it?

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
