Can anyone please tell me exactly what parts are required to put the RB25 turbo onto a stock RB20 manifold? Nay special parts required or do they just bolt on? Also do the R33 fuel pumps have a higher rating than the R32's?

Thanks for all your help for the noob! You guys are great!

Search dude. This has been covered A LOT.

They bolt straight on except for the elbow, which you need the rb25 one

Sorry, I have done so much searching and reading in the last week I am going crosseyed. Couldn't seem to find a how to. Thanks for the reply.

i was fairly sure that the turbo elbow on a rb20 would fit an rb25 turbo. i think at worst you need to slog the three holes out to suit but only a little bit but the main reason i thought that you use an rb25 turbo elbow was for better flow.

Well I couldn't get the RB20 elbow doesn't fit the RB25 turbo. I just wanted something that would bolt on with no hassles. But the inner diameter of the elbows were different too, so yeah, the flow would be all messed up.

The elbows dont go for much anyway, there's one for sale right now for $50.

Oh yeah, and another thing, you need to get a pressure source to hook up to your wastegate actuator. I just got a nipple tapped into my elbow, some do it on the compressor housing.

Mate,

The sticky thread in this section, called Forced Induction Guide... is just that.

A guide to this section.

If you took (approx) 20seconds, you would see a link called: RB25 turbo onto RB20DET - Exactly what is needed

And this is the link for the thread itself thats linked to the title...

You dont even need to use the search button its that easy :)

Cheers.

    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
