Changed over my wheels to some cheapie's I got on egay with 90% tread tyres as my old rims needed repair and didn't want to spend to much fitting fresh rubber on shabby wheels.

the rims are 17x9 fronts and 17x9.5 rears

tyres are 'Maxgrade' 235/45's front and 255/40's rear and are dead set dangerous in the wet

the old dunlops direzza's (?) I were using which were on the wear strips were 10 times safer than these 'Maxgrade' things slide all over the place on a wet road...

they are on my r32 GTR, god help anyone with these tyres and a GTST (best drift tyre ever?)

so I realy need to replace these tyres before I have to brake hard or I forget I'm wearing heavy shoes.

who is the go and what tyre reccomendations do you all have for my baby?

cheers

if you're not keen on spending 150+ a tyre, you could just get some 2nd hand tyres.. there's a few places out near the Coburg cinema (newlands rd) or there's one at the cnr of Cooper & High st Epping.. I think 'bundoora tyres' or something. There's one on the Hume Hwy.. erm fawkner tyres (dont like them much tho). Heaps of other places just do a search.

They're no more than about $50-75 each normally for that size.

Look through the tyre rating thread either way for some reviews on what to get or not to get, and look for some tyres that are evenly worn, don't be afraid to have a really good look at them before you buy and ask about the tread depth. Usually costs maybe an extra $10 to swap them over and you can ask for your old tyres back (good if you plan on going to drift days etc). They may even have some others you can take if you want a whole bunch of drift tyres, saves them the disposal cost.

have fun!

Well maxgaurd... if you've never heard of it, it cant be good... and i've never heard of them

I used Dunlop 3000A from the XR6t, brilliant tyre and not overtly expensive.

They were worth the $$$ IMO, and this was when i was over 350rwkw with RWD... and i still think they performed exceptionally well considering everything

thanks for the link, awesome read (still going lol.)

the Maxgrade are made in Japan, seem to have a decent tread pattern, but they are definatly trying to kill me, havnt driven them in the wet much since the wheels were fitted but thismorning I baked brownies on every corner...

they are seriously dangerous, so much so I will be winding down the boost until I get somthing better, dont realy feel like testing the ATTESSA at 100k's while boost comes on overtaking a truck or somthing

AVOID!, hell I wouldnt even feel right passing these on to anyone

[edit]

actually called maxgrade, Z rated aswel....'sif do over 240k's with these POS tyres
