just wondering, i have a lockbar and noticed the other night that with the car jacked up, and rear wheel off, i can grip the rear disc and "turn" it 1mm in/out, as in i can see the tie rod move in and out of the lock bar 1mm. seems a bit too much slop to me?!!

how would i fix this? get a new lockbar? or tie rods? Both?

how does this bar look..?

anyone dealt with these guys. maybe a good option till gtrgeof starts up again.

I dont know what you lot are on!!. I race my R32 and I havnet had any problems on the track yet. feels fine to me.

i was going to try the cheaper option of using some cut washers to stop it working to see what the difference was. but really, the only trouble ive had cornering is the blokes in front of me holding me up!!!

haha.. must be wrxs... lol

how do u normally go about with the hicas oil lines on the R32 GTR.? leave them on? and bung them up or remove?

what a guess.. i had a huntch.. lol

and the EVO's. im told they suffer from a bit of turn in understeer. i can monster all the guys i race with in corners, i just havent quite got enough power for the straights. but mine is still standard apart from a pod filter and now a 3'' straight through/side exit exhaust(no muff/cat) which im taking to the track tomorrow to see the difference. im hoping it will be noticable.

no intercooler oil cooler? im not game to go track without supporting cooling mods.

let us knw how u go.

havent had any prob's yet. standard intercooler. we have to make up a better cooling suround for the pod filter. at the moment its only a thin sheet of aluminum.

track test didnt go as well as i thought it would. since we did some suspenion changes, dad did a rough wheel alig on it i only used my road tyres which are slippery as hell to see how the trye wear was. exhaust didnt seem to make much difference but then again i was still pulling the same speed on the straights with slower corner speed so i wont really know till my next race meeting on the 25th. i wished id takin the race tyres now. dad did a wheel alig with wood and tape measure and he's done a good job. then again he has been doing then for 30 years. and i really need to lock the diff cause im lifting the inside rear to much and losing traction.

decent effort keeping up with wrxs and evos in a standard GTST >_<

Cheers! Its manily due to the circut i think, or im just grreeaatt LOL

they have it over me on the straights though. but yeah, for what it is im doing ok.

once we've upgraded to somewhere near their standard, look out! but it all takes time, and money.

    • Congrats on the career change!  I did something similar at the start of the year too, left IT / corporate after nearly 2 decades. Soooo when's the motor coming out for the spark plug change?
    • Hi guys, long time no post as per usual! It's been a busy year so far, the biggest thing being a new job.  After 28 years in the automotive industry I decided it was time for a change.  I was losing faith in the industry and where it's heading.  Now in a completely different industry (electrical) working for a company that manufacture water pump contollers.  Not as sexy as cars but it's an interesting,  challenging industry. I now don't work Saturdays which is a bonus!  It's still 50-55 hours a week but having Saturdays ack after 28 years of working them is awesome!   No news on the GT-R but i did decide to add some more JDM goodness into my life....           1990 300 ZX.  She's not perfect but for a 35 year old car she ain't bad!  Just going to tidy it up a bit and enjoy it.  It's currently auto but will start stockpiling everything for a manual swap. It WILL distract me even further from the GT-R but im hoping not for too long! It somewhat proves a 6'8" freak can fit in a 300 ZX.  Sort of...  I drove it home from the previous owners house in Melbourne via Black Spur and Merton Gap (2 awesome bits of Victorian twisty road) and it was amazing!  Handles so well!!!   I don't think it would be worthy of a full build page but I'll post up some of the upgrades here if anyone is interested?  Cheers guys!
    • End game is to: - Remove all the slop from old worn parts - Adjust setup so that the wheels actually fit and the car is drivable (currently it is not because of the extreme rubbing on the guards).   Progress over the last couple of days, removed the rear hubs! Next steps: - Buy bushings - Replace bushings/bearings on hub - Reinstall
