U guys have some quality cars down here, a strange need to put large blown engins into tiny little cars (ie corollas! :O )

Had a blast though, the nitro doorslammer was abit of a fizzer but u could see that coming from a mile away!

"I hear its gonna cut hoops!" LOL

some of the power skids were very impresive, that dato 1200 ute was nuts!

might cyas out there tomorrow night!

Cheers,

MicK

I drove home from a wedding in Penrith last night at about midnight, and I could still smell the rubber from the burnouts as I was going past the Shell servo on the Highway at Eastern Creek.

Oh did you go

I heard the ute was nuts aswell

I want to go next time

Yeah, that was a really clean fj20 setup. Good to see the old school nissan motors still being used.

That s15 was trully nuts, so clean and stock looking yet it had a jatco and transbrake setup that produced 1/4 mile power skids! The rb25 in it still had the standard manafold, just had the throtle moved to the front!

All in all a great weekend but ya right, not enough skylines. I'm definatly bring mine down next year so look out! :ninja:

That Datto ute was off chops in a major way, 437 ft burnout :ninja: with no application of brakes was bloody impressive got footage of it & a couple of others.

Might be good to get the club involved as an idea seeing that there were some lines there but none from the SAU that I saw ( no SAU stickers ), was a top day glad Burnsie Geed me up to go :( .

The HQ 1 tonner they dynoed there had 898hp at the rear wheels which ran just before we left, they announced the warning lights for excessive power on the dyno were goin off ( maybe a cheap dyno :P ) heaps of goodies there to be seen. The only problem now is this continuing hunger for more power I have after spending the day with all the rev heads with the same desires of more power = more fun  .

that twin turbo cortina was from qld and won the drags on sunday. :(

Had the pleasure of hearing 1000rwhp haze the tyres past me at 100kph, it was the Trick & Mansweto capri that won the dyno comp at sumernats in jan. was funny cause i read the artical bout it in street machine the day before and then got to hear all 602 cubes of big block sing in the flesh!

Thats the beauty of powercruise!

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
