Hi scoop!

Can i ask a few curly questions?

How would i go Roadworthy wise with some of these mods once the rego runs out? Ie intercooler , blow off valves and PFC. I dont have a clear understanding of NSW process. How long left on the reg ?

With it being a 92 model! Do you know if it has the oil pump Upgraded Contact surface Rb26

What is the bonnet on it ?

MY99 SUBARU WRX FOR SALE

Hi mate, why would you let the rego run completely out? Car has mostly all standard features, They came out with big intercoolers anyway, blow off valves are standard and work quite well so no need to upgrade, power fc sits in standard spot, all cars like this will need aftermarket computer anyway. Most factory computers(r32) are starting to get old and play up now anyway. Bonnet is carbonfiber/fiberglass. Standard bonnet comes with car. Id say oil pump drive would be old style so keep revs conservative.

Thank's Scoop

I live on the border of NSW and Vic....The reason i ask is i have had a r32 gtr and in victoria where mine was registered it became a magor head ache roadworthy wise with aftetrmarket pfc , pods, BOVs and coil overs plus i had to chase up a standard intercooler.

I am fairly interested in this car but need to know it will pass with its mods when the rego comes to an end ... you have yearly RWC required dont you ?

Dont know your rules down there but here we get a pinkslip and alls well, long as tires, lights, brakes etc r all rite thats basicly it, blue slip is another matter. If rwc stands for road worthy cert then thats a pink slip and yes I have it somewhere, not that it would be any good to you down there by the sounds of it. Maybe you need to talk to the rego people down there. :P At least I think thats how it works :)

Cool Cool, I think it would be ok if i left it NSW reg... I do have that option if i want. I was just concerned i dont want to have to pull it all apart and put stock parts in when the reg is due

Are you firstly interested in WRX trade or shall i move it on them come see you ?

the link is in the first post i made here .

Hi again mate, Ive had some reasonable offers PM'd to me, But what sort of money would you be talking with the swap?

Hah, only just got myself an R32 GT-R a few months back. You car sounds very nice and all these others are praising it. I think if I bought it, that I would be missing out on that whole build up process, there is something about doing your own, part of the journey. Besides, I live in WA.

Good luck with the sale, hopefully you can find a way to hold onto it though.

<--- P.S Anyone know how to change the engine type under my pic?

    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
    • Look at @Kinkstaah's thread on the issue.
