Hi all,

I have been given a really good job offer in Newcastle, and i am sreiously thinking about taking it. Just asking for peoples opinions, or if anyone has done this before and can give me some tips.

Thanks,

Ben

pay packet? any incentives..? newcastle that means u support the blues..

will be well compensated, just prefer not to let the world know crap the pay is. Why would i support the auckland blues, when i already have the crusaders as my team.

Just to get you thinking if you haven't already thought of it. A company car these days is worth a good $10k plus a year... tax free to you... Is that pay double before or after tax? Because as you would know, before tax its far from actually being double :) (and without trying to have a go, you know you can nail doing the job? because 3month probations can hurt you... just something to think about)

That and well, you wont know anyone down there, so any money you make you will save, or spend on piss and become an alco... Also its a tops skim spot, so you could get really fit skimming, and Id come visit from time to time because its a tops skim spot.

Guess the thing is, is the money worth it. Thats only something you can decide on.

awesome dude..thts a pretty big step up! I can just call u directly next time i'm hiring a car :)

Thx btw for saving me heaps on the last hire! All up to you in the end to weigh up the pros n cons...if the $$ is worth it I say go for it!

im pretty sweet with that side of things man, ive managed a small business before and learnt alot from that, also mum is senior managment in the company, thats part of reason i have been handed it.

So you're a Kiwi... you can live in Newcastle, anything over this side of the ditch is a step up! :)

Jokes aside, it's not a bad place. I've had a few friend live there for 2/3yrs and all had a good time. good luck!

Haha no worries man. As I said didnt mean any offence by it (kind of cant come out any other way tho!) just I've seen recently a few people get offered these positions, they know they cant do it but they say yes anyway, and 3 months later they have no job, not even the one they started out with.

If you can do it man, and live out of qld (thats the hard bit) Id say go for it. That and the experience would be tops. Do it for 3 years or so, make a mint (that means selling the gtr otherwise you will just have a fast car and nothing else :() then come back, only realise even tho you have $300k saved up it still not enough for a house deposit!

I say NO just from my experience i was in the same boat.

In the same industry offerred more money and better conditions.

But it never happened promises promises and its to late once you have moved.

Very costly experience.

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
