Hey all. I just thought i might bore you all with what i did tonite. Needed to remove my engine and gear box from my 1982 subaru to replace clutch and gear box. I started the task after tea around 7pm and managed to have the gear box and motor out in only 4hrs.

Well thats what i been doing. I know some of you will be like " thats slow as man" but i think its good. Ah well just thought i would share something.

why did you take the motor out aswell?

because it was stuck to the gearbox...lol

top effort mate...wish i had some idea of taking those things out..would save me $$

4hrs by yourself? thats a damn good effort

Yeah its easier to take out gearbox with the engine than to f around with separating them in the car. Plus i am changing the gear box for another one that i had sitting around cos the current one is a bit f'ed. Yeah i did the whole thing myself and with a few beers lol. yeah had to remove front cv joints, tail shaft. I have removed the engine a few times in my paddock bomb so i had bit experience on this type of vehicle. would make life easier if i had a hoist. just used car stands and an engine crane. bit slower but does the job.

GTR engine pulled out of race car in 1.5hrs...with help from a very knowledgeable mate.

from engine running to gtr box out in 1 hour by myself, thats with no hoist and only axle stands and a jack to assist

gtr engine running and out in around 4 hours by myself as well

done box around 20 times now and engine about 10-12 times i think so gets easier the more u do it lol

i know what bolt sizes are on every damn part of the engine and box, its pretty disturbing

lol nice work guys. yeah i dont think i would be strong enough to try and take gear box out from under and put it back in. hard to manipulate it in tight spaces. yeah i knew what alot of sizes where on my car. mostly 10,12,14,17.
