Im farely new to the forum, and I finally got some nice pictures of my R32 that i picked up in December. thanks to my mate.

I took a fair few of them, and was just wondering if there would be anyone who could give me some tips on how to take better photos.. whether it be the contrast in the background, angles etc, because I would like to learn a bit on making the car look its best in photos.

I spend that long polishing etc that I like it to look good in photos if its going to represent what it looks like in real life!!!

Anyway.. any little thing would be helpful or even little things you can see on the car that might need improving that wouldnt cost a whole heap!! (Yes, P plates should of gone!)

Thanks.

Nice clean R32 you have there champ! Photos are pretty good!!

Maybe a location with a different colour background would help, something more neutral in colour.

Also that 3rd shot is way outta focus..

What camera you using?!

It was actually a mates camera. Im looking to get one soon. My old man's is a 5MPG but I can never get the setting right.

Yeah I only just realised it was out of focus. I must of been shaking haha. I'll find another pic to replace it.

Any tips on a camera to get? Don't really want to spend a whole lot though.

IF your not looking at spending too much cash maybe a middle/top of the range point and shoot would be up your alley.

I recommend Canon, Sony and Panasonic in these feilds.

My 1st digi camera was a sony DSC-F707 which I got in 2001 and even still to this day its in top working order and produces great pics, although it did cost $2200 at the time.

So maybe budget yourself for about $500-$800 and you should pick up something nice like a panasonic FZ20 - FZ30 or the compact FZ25.

Cheers. Once again clean R32 champ.

Thanks for your help with that, I am going to go out this weekend I think and just get a feel for what sort of thing i want / need and plan to start saving.

Thanks again

optical zoom is better than digital zoom

but it depends how far away from your subject you will be.

50m or more get optical zoom

otherwise digital zoom would be ok

if it has an unsual type of battery check the check its "life" (a figure give in hours) and a camera that runs on a normal type of rechargable battery AA might be better if you travel alot,

if you forget the charger you can just keep some spares in the bag.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
