i own the car it is in my name. it is getting a surragant vin because it was a stolen and recovered car. they hadit becuase it had to go for an "inpection" on wednesday morning and when i went to pick it up, knowone knew where the car was. the owner was the one who sent it where ever it was and never told anyone about it.

they found it because i told the person at the yard who is helping me where it has been seen. i am going there this afternoon to see it but because i have a loan car from them and it is at home i cant get it till tomorrow

grab lawyers and head down ! take these idiots to court would you pm me the company name so next time no one else i know will buy or get anything fixed from that mob !.. glad u found ur car !..

how can it be in your name if it hasn't had a roadworthy?

if it hasn't had that you can't transfer the car into your name, do you even understand how purchasing a car works?

i dont no. i didnt do that they did and yes it is in my name because my f**king plates are on it. i do now how it works but they have found away around it.

So glad to hear it has been found, I hope to see this car around now with you driving it and not somebody else. Also if you could PM the dealership that this all happened at it would be good. I just got my skyline so I wont be buying for awhile but it will be good to know for the future.

I hope you get to spend plenty of quality time with your car soon.

you always need a roadworthy when you buy a car, even if you buy it from a car yard. so either she is confusing a roadworthy with something else, or she doesn't have the car in her name. you can not transfer a registered car into your name without a roadworthy.

if they sold it to you unregistered you'd need to take the car to QT yourself to get it registered (or sign a form to say another person is authorised to do so), has any of this happened?

and phatboi, just because i'm not blowing smoke up her arse doesn't mean i'm not helping. she clearly doesn't understand how car purchases should work, and i'm explaining that.

maybe we should find out if she has a rego label wouldnt that tell you if its been registered or not and under what plate?

oh and can someone PM me the car yards etc details

i am not confused. I no what you have to do to register a car and transfer rego. I have NEVER seen a copy of the road worthy and the own of the yard said to me only 2 days ago that the company that does there roady worth's refused to do it because of the vin number issue. if you like i can post a copy of my rego cert. But i know for a fact that the car is in my name. i when and put the plates on myself. i personly went to QLd transport and did that a month after i bought the car. I wasnt in my name a few weeks after i bought it. But once i phoned the car yard it was transfer a day later.

if you have your rego details in front of you call up REVS or go to checkitout.com.au and run your VIN number

see if it is flagged as stolen, etc

hey sorry to hear about all your trouble. I'd appreciated if you could please pm me the car yards details as I have alot of contacts in that area (was working at import car yard till few weeks ago). Itll be interesting to see who it actually is as we delt with a few other yards.

Thanks

FOUND THE CAR!!!! IN SLACKS CREEK!!!! FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD THE CAR WAS BEING HIDEN THERE TILL THE OWNER GETS BACK FROM HOLIDAYS. nEXT PHONE CALL IS FAIR TRADING.

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
