hi, does anyone know what type of lights to use in the xenon system for the r34. The lights lense has a sticker on it saying it has been converted to xenon and not to attemt to use any other gas type. so the lights that are advertised with xenon gas are they safe? or will i damage the system ?

and that real annoying beep how in gods earth do you by pass it to shut up?

( plss plss its driving me nuts)

Just because it says xenon does not mean you have xenon. The lamps would have been replaced to halogen during compliance so I don't think you have xenons. Are ur lights a bright white color and takes a few secs to come on? If so you have xenons...if they are the normal yellowish light, then its been converted to halogens.

if they're converted to halogen it will probably have numbers engraved into the top of the light sort of where the bonnet sits. I'd say your xenons have been chopped out like mine. If so you just get normal h1 halogen bulbs ( i think its h1 , haven't changed them for a while) from autobarn etc. I've heard phillips have good bulbs. The high beam is something diffent but i don't know what it is. Sorry i got a manaul trans so cant help with the beep

that sounds about right its been etched out with a H1 12v/55w serialed into it. The high beam is a tricky one i know never heard of it before.

does anyone out there know how to by pass it and have no sound while reversing ?

You are correct alot of em loose xenons when complianced but mine was left in and alot of others i have talked to theres were also left.

i got the reverse beep aswell.. i think its normal..

yeah its bloody normal.

There is a wire u can cut... apparently if u pull off the plastic covering around your gear selector there will be a wire attached somewhere near the "R" setting u simply cut it.

where is the beep coming from ? Under the dash ? Stick your head where it's beeping and see if it has a beeper/ speaker somewhere and pull the wire going to it

As above... but in saying that I have not cut mine nor look in there as it does bug me when reversing for a while but don't want to damage the interior surround.

Can't simply change back in most cases they cut the wires out making it impossible to fix. Need new headlights basically. Also they usually take the ballasts.

It's a piece of piss to take the surround out mate, look at http://www.r34gtt.net/r34start.html

Hey,

I had a look at that site but couldn't find the bit about the interior console, i've seen that site b4 but didn't realize he modded the inside or had info on it.

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
