take the car to a circuit, and u will realise its not slow :( or the hills :(

I agree with you there,

even my slow arse pintara feels fast in the hills especially down Old Nortin Summit Rd. :(

... Im not much of a power fiend though, aslong as my DR30 can beat twats thinking they are top shit in their commonwhores, thats good enough for me. :)

seriously thou people are soooo concerened with numbers. good on yah. ive got 50000kwss! nah not really, all i know is so far the fastest cars ive ever come up agianst has nothin to do with power, but the drivers! think about that.

maybe

but i cant see a good driver in a slower car beating u in the skyline tho'

still comes down to power

did Craig Lowndes pass you in his 120y again?

i hate when that happens...

correct that experience means alot when conering, and braking, but in a straight line grunt allways wins....

nah enrico's right, its mainly the driver. any chump can put his foot down, but coming to a corner its experience that counts and power that goes oooout the window. the better you can drive, the more you understand about driving techniques etc, the faster u drive, the more seconds you knock off etc.

When does power become boring? how long is a piece of string?

in terms of wanting to go faster and become a better driver, track time is an investment for some and recreation for others, or both.

shiet you guys take my mx6 out for a spin and you'll appreciate your cars! but i have to say it's a good fun car because it grips well! i'm still working on my driving through the hills! just this weekend that has passed i was comfortable enough to heel toe while taking a corner! and i'm also more comfortable correcting my car when it oversteers! i'm with the opinion of learning how to drive your car before you start changing it! and i still have a lot more learning to do.....

but on the other hand 380kws would certainly shrivel my balls

Yeah but people who play the power game do it for the rush, the feeling of being sucked back into your seat. Most of them realise it won't make them much faster on the track. That and its just plain fun to have too much power.

i agree its more the rush of being sucked back in the seat, realistically in windy stuff, theres not a lot of chance you get to put full power down. But its just the factor of having that much power on tap and the ability to just suck you into the back seat and make other cars look stupid on the straight thats awesome. True a lot of ppl with lots of power realise there not always the quickest you have to remember not all ppl build there car to be mega quick round a corner etc or on a circuit.

tell me where in the hills or public road, u cold use 380rwkw and actually get that power down.

and obvioulsy i mean that the drivers play the part, but they had decent cars from the start, ie wrx skyrine etc

I live in the country, there are plenty of open roads, being 4WD its gets the power down very well.

try a rexi or an evo for ur cornering pleasures.

making a skyline to do what a rexi or an evo can do around a corner is impossible, but being a driver that can do better than both cars in a skyline/s15. takes a bit of skill.

You have to be kidding

I agree the Rex and Evo are great in corners (and perhaps better than a skyline stock for stock) but they are not that much better that a skyline with a few suspension mods and sticky tyres can not cope with. (add some brake mods and the WRX and Evo are no hopers)

The advantage of the skyine is the power you can put down exiting the corner.

The traction system on the new EVOs is pretty amazing. Individual wheel braking and power control. It makes it a fast car to drive extremely easy. On a recent track day they were eating skylines and a 34 GTR with semi slicks. Admittedly they were very good drivers but they just looked so much more controllable on the limit.

Outright power and when they cars have a lot of money tipped into them the skyline would come out on top, however as a factory car the EVO is very well sorted.

    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items
    • Funny, but really not funny. Thank god (most) f the world has moved on since then
    • Lots of votes for driving onto a plank first; that is the quickest way I've found, 25mm is enough for my case but that will vary by car It also depends where you are going for. On the 32 I can get to the rear diff with my floor jack if I do that end first, and get it up on stands. Then I lift the front from either front tow hook as high as needed, also onto stands. Sometimes I need a small lift on the other tow hook to get it level enough If I do the front first I can't get to the rear diff because of the angle of the car Other options are getting to the front mount of the rear subframe from in front of the wheel (if only lifting one side, or just do both which is a bit of a pain compared to one lift from the diff), or also the gearbox cross member mount on the driver's side if you are  just trying to lift the driver's side. I This is the jack I use; it says 75mm clearance but of course that is only on the lower section so if you have to reach too far in like the diff you still get stuck. https://www.snapon-bluepoint.com.sg/category/Floor-Jacks/product/Floor-Jack,-2-Ton-Low-Profile
