I'm buying forged pistons and rods soon(not sure on the brand yet) just want to know pro's and con's of them as i'v been told they have a big play and will change the temp making it hard to start in the cold. Is this true?

Also i have a rb30e block sitting in the shed is the rb25/30 conversion a costly job and worth it,

Cheers

Dave

A well built motor there will be no noticable piston slap.

Mine runs the slightly looser clearance according what what wiseco state 24+psi/race use.

When stone cold the untrained ear can't hear the slight piston slap, pop the bonnet and it simply sounds like a little valve train noise.
