Genuine Gibson Motorsport Grpa Skylines Go Oran Park June 1/2/3.

Recommended Posts

Put this in your diary.

Oran Park June 1/2/3. Historic racing.

Rod Markland and Terry Ashwood will be racing their ex Gibson Motorsport HR31 Skylines in the Group A/C category.

These cars are still in their original Nissan colours, just as they raced in 1988/89/90

The big news is that The Grant/Grant Sizzler car (GMS chassis #4) should be making a comeback.

The car was found in New Zealand and is in excellent condition, in its original Sizzler colours.

It should be arriving back in Australia around the end of this month, and the new owner is keen to have it at Oran Park.

Should be huge, 3 HR31's howling around the circuit.

Be there and cheer on the Nissans!

Rod Markland had his R31 at Wakefield Park yesterday and it was awesome.

These cars did not have any of the level of development that the Gibson R32 GTR’s had (e.g. it was running a plenum that was very similar to a GTS-T’s with a single throttle body) yet it was amazingly quick down the straights compared to the Ford and Holdens that it was running against.

To see three R31’s on the track at once will be great.

Do you know who's going to be racing the Sizzler car?

I was there at Wakefield on the weekend as well...the R31 was awsome...even the starts(Terry and Rod could take some leasons)....nothing beats cubic inch's aye...except for a 2lt turbo NISSAN....V8's are dinosaurs....talking about dinosaurs....Did anyone hear the announcer on the Saturday...he sounded a bit limp wristed....great job Mark....lol

Chris was awsome with the drifting!!!!

    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together
    • I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again.  With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it.
