Best Turbo Upgrade For Standard Rb25det?

Hi,

i want put a bigger turbo or hi flow the stock one? Which is better as i dont wanna change internals but want my engine not to blow or fry a piston. What is the best turbo for minimal lag, most power and a good amount of power at the wheels with standard RB25DET.

I have plenty of experience with rb30et motors thanks to the many vl turbos i have owned.

Best upgrade while keeping internals standard and even standard ecu would be hiflowing a T03 turbo.

This would be done by fitting a larger exhaust housing eg. t4 housing and honing out the compressor cover to fit a large compressor wheel of a t4 turbo. Lag will stay minimal and the turbo will easily flow up to 550hp.

Next steps would be bigger injectors and aftermarket ecu.

T3/4 hiflow turbo go for about rrp $1300, personaly i would buy one 2nd hand and have it checked out. 2nd hand you can pick them up for about $600-$900. Keep an eye out on ebay and sale threads in this website and also calaisturbo.
