I'm kinda in 2 minds about the events of that night.

A. yes it's a bit disappointing that so many got yellows but hey we all know the rules. A bit over the top to bust so many thou.

B. I can fully understand why the police chose to that that action. Those burntouts right in front of the cops was stupid, dangerous and showed a real disreguard for the law.

When i was waiting in line to get out the first copper comes up, how you doing, love your number plates. Sort of broke the ice a bit i guess and we started chattin. He asks if i have any permits,

so i hand over that and he goes through the list.

Pods check, Gauges check, BOV check, Half Cage check, etc etc. Anything for the wheels (19 x 10.5) 285 all round.

No don't have permit for those.

ANyways we keep chattin and the vehicle inspector arrives. The copper i been talkin too tells him all sweet here, he's got permits.

What about them oversize wheels.

Yep no problem.

So basically the copper lied to the inspector and i got out no worries. Didn't even have to pop the hood.

Maybe it's because i'm a bit older (mid 30s) or because i treated the guy with a bit of respect i don't know but these guys probably would have preferred being somewhere else not there booking kids in the cars. Some desk jockey that wasn't even there would have made the call to yellow everything. Some skyline driver is probably tappin his daughter or wife and wanted pay back lol.

Anyways in my opinion its all part of the game. The good guys Vs the bad guys. I get a rush everytime a see a cop car, whether i'm doing something wrong or not. Will this be the time they pull me over and yellow me. All fun. If you can't afford to unmod your car to clear a yellow, don't mod it in the first place i say. It's a pain in the ass yeh but them the rules. From reading what goes on in the eastern states with regards to mobile epa and noise i think we are quite lucky in WA.

Would be interesting to know the reaction from the police if that car park had 500 harley davidsons and 1000 outlaw bikers there doing burnouts rather than 500 modified cars and 1000 kids.

I doubt any yellows would have been handed out for fear of starting a riot.

So the last thing i wanna say is don't blame to police, if you want to drive a modded car without getting hassled, go to uni, study politics, become premier and change the laws. You got my vote already.

Paul

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
