Yeah well it stopped you from telling me to go away all the time. :P

I definately think more small cruises should happen if you guys want them, fortnightly, weekly, gold coast, bris, it all seems like a good idea. The nights events should be decided first though, you dont want 5 guys turning up for a mountain run when its a cruise to the gold coast.

i think what u have to realise is no matter where u go

u will get unwanted presence people see u drive past they just tag along

u should vary the meeting points and routes, if u always have a meet at roma or bwcp these are common places for meets and cruises to begin. its gonna be hard for just a skyline australia cruise or wat not, u will get attention from police as they patrol the M1 like it was a doughnut shop.

also a cruise everyweek could be askin a bit much of people and gettin decent turnouts.

if u have it say every 2nd week may be a bit better

and why is it always the gold coast that u mostly cruise too?

what bout the poor sunshine coast people?

yeh the sunshine coast may be a bit further to travel buts theres no rule saying a cruise has to be a nightly thing

i been to alexandra headlands just over an hour north of here very nice area not many cops at all and plenty of places to meet.

i'll be the hero nismogirl :D /jk Seriously though if its kept fairly small and everyone meets in an uncommon place (maybe even an underground carpark?, being out of sight would stop most ppl from finding out) then i doubt too many people would tag along. And as to where to go, that could be decided at the meeting place?

its worth a try just to see how it goes, but if its a large group then people are more likely to want to follow so the smaller the better. besides, it doesnt look like too many people here are interested so i don't think there would be much of a tag along problem. i dont like the idea of a cb arial hanging off my '33 :D

Andrew and I are currently in talks with the owner and shop occupiers of a carpark on the southside of Brisbane. I'm not going to say anymore cause I don't want people meeting there already without persmission. I will talk to Andrew more this afternoon and get back to you all. It's a great place to meet and I'm wondering if Slip would like to step into the negotiations as well (as the president)..

I'll talk to andrew and get back to you.

Hey Pinto, hope the car is ok. Sounds like something went bump in the night??

Anyway, can we set it for this week so we can at least make a start. Can I suggest Roma St Carpark (alongside the grass field area), from about 6.30. We can then maybe have a discussion about places to go. I don't know bris all that well but surely someone does.

Once we do one then we can discuss more, how to make them better, and where we have them etc. We have to start somewhere, and it's not going to be perfect the first time. But it doesn't have to be organised to the nth degree, this is meant to be a casual get-together and cruise. If you want to go somewhere to thrash your car come out to the sprint days.

I'd like to have the venue and time set for tongiht so we can post in the events thread and move this one forward. Please advise if this is too early for you today and we'll set it. Then we can review for next time where and when we do whatever we will do.

Thanks

D

There is the thread.

If you's are seriously interested in creating a weekly/fortnightly/monthly then you will attend this event and support the idea of creating this carpark as our meeting spot.

Ok then people. Is anyone up for a cruise this fri night - 6.30 to 7pm at roma street parklands. If so please post in here (no point making a separate thread at this stage, if it becomes regular then we can go for threads then). Post here if you are coming, thinking of it or can't make it, then we at least know whats happening.

Thanks all

{EDIT} of course we can hang there to wait for people who can only get there later, the whole idea is we actually catch up and get to know each other as well as cruising around. This is a "social" event as much as anything.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
